Comments about GE GE Profile 15" GCG1580RSS Stainless Steel Built-In Compactor:
Had a Kitchen-Aid in hte house when we bought it. guessing it was 20 yrs old. Finally it wore out & we replaced with a GE Profile in stainless steel. Almost 13 months to the day, it growled really loud & smoked. Unplugged it & called hte store. The warranty is a year. Repairs are on me. If I pay nearly [$] for an appliance, it should last for years. When it was working it had a LOT less power than the Kitchen-Aid. This thing wont crush plastic milk jugs for crying out loud! Basically I bought a [$] stainless steel trash drawer.

The controls are hidden and I love it .
It took a bit longer than expected to arrive.
