I like that you can check your messages from the handset. I don't like that the main message center does not show the number of messages, nor does it say when the message was received.

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 5.8 GHz Black Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System:

Due to disabilities, I need phones to ring other rooms--works great for that, as well as a regular phone. These have lots of good features, charge lasts a long time, they're not bulky or heavy. One thing I ran into is: although the charge lasts for hours and hours, if it's been off the charger for a long time, even though you haven't used it, you may not have much charge left for calls, but I'm talking hours off the charger.

This is Ok product for the price I paid[$]. But the battery cost for all 4 hand sets is going to cost me $80 after 18 months of usage, i.e. the actual cost of the phone. Some times the hand set is displaying “No link to the Base” message and we need to put the hand set on the base for a while to get the ring tone. All together, it’s a nice phone for that price. We can not expect every thing if you are looking for the better price.

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 5.8 GHz Black Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System:

I have issues with this phone... on a few recipients, (not all the time) every handset while talking to the person will have an 'echo' while speaking into it.

Also, caller id will not work more than half the time, while my phone line is also connected to a satellite receiver (which is required by my provider, and also did not affect the caller ID of my previous cordless handsets).

Aside from that, battery life is, so far, more than adequate. The phones are light. Intercom feature is nifty. Being able to join in on conversation or transfer to another handset is phenomenal.

All in all, I 'can' live w/o caller ID, and plan to call my phone company to see if there is any way possible to boost the caller ID signal frequency. The echo problem is quite annoying and also appears to make you have to speak louder to be heard on the other end.

I will probably continue to use these phones, since they are already purchased.

Service & Delivery comments:

Price was great, delivered FAST. ABT is great as far as I can tell, (first time purchaser).
