Have had this product about a month -- it has stayed in place during all my driving (I haven't tested it under a "hard" braking or "hard" turning situation).

It has a small foot-print (doesn't take up much space) and is both sturdy and stylish. I'm very happy with this mount.

We use the Garmin Friction mount in our vehicles. It sits on the dash, holds the GPS, and doesn't move around. It's great. Everyone needs one of these.

I purchased this friction mount because I need to move to CA, in which they say mounting the GSP on front windows is illegal, which does not make sense to me but I have to obey... Anyway, I bought it. I used it. I love it... But please make sure you get the right mount for your GSP.

Used primarily for local and long distance travel in unfamiliar cities. The advantage is its complete portability and stability on the dashboard. The disadvantage is that it is somewhat bulky.

Garmin Nuvi doesn't list the street name you are required to turn onto, a nice feature that Magellan has and I miss. Garmin announcements don't give you much time in which to make a turn, again something Magellan has and I like. But Garmnin has better screen display and I suspect more accurate GPS locations. I put the older Magellan in my wife's car; she likes it better, anyway.

We plan on using it occasionally in my car whenever all of us travel.The only reason I am giving this product 4 and not 5 stars is because I haven't really used it myself. The review is based on my husband's experience.All in all though I think it is a very useful accessory for a Garmin auto GPS unit. Would highly recommend!

Saves you from needing to mount to windshield or dash...no more circles on the glass ! Easy to pull out of one vehicle and move to another vehicle. Also easy to qucikly pull off the dash to conceal GPS while parked.

Windshield mount that came with my Garmin Nuvi made the unit too far away in my CRV. This works great, stays in place on the dash or on the console (since you cannot have anything on your dash or windshield that may obstruct view in Virginia). My GPS stays in place and is easy to hide out of sight when I park.

A genius design, it never moves, unless you want it to! As we all know GPS are #1 item stolen out of cars, by using this mount you can store it away and never appear to own a GPS. Plus, you can move it from car to car which I use more often that I thought!
