Not too difficult to install if you have a little experience with your car stereo. Recommend letting a pro install it for you if you don't. Remember to turn off your satalite radio to listen to stations on your cars reciever.
Best thing about the relay is that it eliminates static and bleed over from other recievers nearby. Highly recommend!

with some basic wiring knowledge for car electronics i was able to hook it up between my antenna cable and the in dash receiver. it does not get any easier than that. you only need to know the extras, like how to remove your trim around the receiver to get to the back panels...

I purchased this with the Sirius Dock and Play Universal vehical kit so I could add capability to use my Starman 4 player in my wife's car. The relay eliminates the need to use the FM antenna and signal that comes with the car kit. The kit is not needed if you already have a Starman or similar Sirius radio. The signal is directly wired through the relay to the car radio. When you push the radio button on the Starmate 4 the relay switches from the car antenna signal and replaces it with the hard wired signal from the Starmate 4. Quality sound and fairly easy to install - took me about 45 minutes. The only difficult installation step was getting to the car radio antenna, connecting it to the relay and installing a new antenna wire from the relay to the car radio. For most cars this is not hard to accomplish.

I purchased and installed this transmitter because of the poor performance of my Sirius car mount's built-in FM transmitter. The reception is now as clear as if the car mount were directly connected to the car radio through an input jack. The transmitter was easily installed - removed the car radio and made two simple plug-in connections.

This product eliminated all static from the sirius unit's fm modulator. easily installed in about half hour--had to eliminate other wires from old antenna. i did have to purchase two other antenna adaptors to work with our Dodge truck.

I use the modulator to connect my Sirius Sportster 4 to the antenna input of my stock 2002 Chrysler Sebring's radio (Chrysler has proprietary antenna connectors, so adapters must be purchased separately - they don't tell you this when you order though!). It is necessary because there are very few unused fm frequencies in my area, and those that are free (2 of them) are easily overpowered by neighboring vehicles seeking the use of the same frequency.

This FM modulator is a must have for satellite radio. Before I purchsed this device I would get frustrated with my static filled reception and usually just shut off my Sirius receiver. In the city forget it, the power house stations would over power me. Now with the modulator I can fully appreciate my satellite radio static free. Reasonable price on this site as well.

Since the FM output signal strength has been made very weak in newer Sirius receivers, this device is needed in the vast majority of auto installations. So far, the unit has completely eliminated interference from commercial stations and signals from other satellite radios in nearby vehicles.

Easy install, took about 20 minutes. Routed the antenna cable to my glovebox and then put this unit in there (just so it wouldn't rattle around in the dash somewhere). I can't belive the difference in sound. As others have noted, they should include this with the radio's.
