I have always found Sony products to be very well engineered and reliable, and this unit does not disappoint. The only shortcoming is that the primary buttons are just labeled with symbols and not also with written words (e.g., pause, stop/eject, play, record).

I purchased this for my parents who are in their 70's. My mom wanted a small radio with a CD player that she could keep in the kitchen. I looked at all the reviews, and decided on this. Bottom line: They LOVE it. Rave about it! Digital radio tuner allows them to find radio stations easily. They managed to figure out how to pre-set radio stations on their own (usually the kind of thing I might have to help with), and love playing their own CDs. It's quite powerful, and they sometimes are listening from other rooms. They are extremely happy with the ease of use, and are so glad I got it for them.

I teach martial arts in home studio and need "inspiration" and cadence for specific work-outs and PT training. The "boost" for base response is appreciated and for the buck, has a very crisp, clear tone with nice ergonomics. Nice company to do business with first time out!

I was looking for a boombox that was small with good sound to use in my dance class. The Sony CFDS01 did not do the job. The sound is tinny with no bass at all. If turned up loud the sound gets shrill and distorted. The best use for this machine would be in a small room at low volume.

Sony quality is evident in this smallish boombox. While the sound is clear, with little distortion, do not expect to rock the house. A great buy for the price - a little less than an am/fm/cd clock radio.
Only negatives: the handle seems rather flimsy - so I wouldn't take it rollerskating in the park.
ABT is great. Very prompt delivery and in perfect condition.

I purchased two of these CD Radio Cassette Recorders -- one for a bedroom and one for a "craft room".[...] were very simple to set up and use. Perhaps the only thing missing on this product is a clock but overall I am very pleased with the product and its performance.
