You need to extend and position the wire antenna to get FM stations. That would be OK if you just park the radio in one spot and leave it. Trying to keep the antenna properly positioned in the shower is another story.

I bought this radio for my kid's bathroom, they do not have it in the shower but sits on a shelf in the bathroom. I like it because I did not want an electric radio by the sink and this has worked great for this purpose! They turn it on every time they go in the bathroom!

Radio has great sound. Quality for the price paid. A little bulky when hanging from the shower head would be the only con. Loud & clear when water is running. Wow, I can't believe they're still selling this. I've had this radio for at least 6 years...probably longer. It's great. My off button has fallen off over time, but that was no fault of the product itself. Even with the broken button, I refuse to give this product up. It has a great sound quality, looks sleek and has endured throughout it all. I've dropped it in the pool and left it oustide in rainstorms and it still works great.

I received this gift as a present when I was 14 or 15 and it has turned out to be the most used gift I've ever recieved, go figure. Definitely worth the buy!

I like listening to the news/weather while I get ready for work in the morning, and this is the best shower radio I have ever owned. I live in a rural area but still get crisp, crystal clear reception on Am and FM stations. I have had this radio for almost 10 years now, and I was delighted to see that Sony still makes this model. The one I own still works but the outer covering on the off button has worn a bit, and is vulnerable to water. I keep it on my vanity instead of in the shower. Water had seeped into that little break, and it had to dry out well before the radio would function again, but function it did! Same beautiful sound I am used to! I am going to purchase another one and tuck it away for future use in the event mine [*] out because I have grown so accustomed to it, the mornings just wouldnt be the same without it. This is a terrific product, and I highly recommend it! (great price on this web site too!)

This is my second of these. They really provide good signal reception, and are very practical for a wet environment, and one where there isn't power available. They don't take up much room, and the sound is quite respectable for a product of this type. I have been very pleased with this product

The digital display is nice with 15 memory pre-sets (5 AM, and 10 FM). The automatic timer for turning off the radio is a nice feature, as is the Weather band option.

I originally bought this product over 10 years ago. At that time, it had the TV band. This one does not which is unfortunate.

This is the second one we bought.

I cannot yet say whether the battery life or durability will be Pros or Cons, but it's exactly what I expected from the reviews and descriptions. I would have liked to have seen a low battery indicator, but that my still be coming and I don't know about it. If there's one thing I didn't like it's that it uses C batteries which don't seem to be that common these days. Maybe future models will have a built in Li or other rechargeable set up.

I was looking for a small radio for my new sailboat to have some tunes while boating on Cape Cod Bay. This shower radio is awesome and perfect for the use. I don't think it would survive a complete water dunk, but has withstood splashing waves without complains. Weather channels are a plus when boating or on the beach!

This is the second Sony shower radio I've purchased, one for each bathroom. My only gripe is that reception is sketchy unless you stretch out the antenna wire and fasten the wire to something, like the wall or mirror, which makes the radio harder to move room to room.

I bought this so I could listen to NPR in the morning with out blaring my clock radio in the other room. It works great. The sound quality and reception are very impressive. The only thing I would change is reception, a very few FM stations don't come in clearly. It's a good size, easy to use with wet hands, I love having pre-sets, the display is easy to read even without reading glasses. It hangs or sits, and the suction cup supplied for the antenna is great. The auto-off timer may be the best thing about it, no more freak-outs when I discover how long I was in the shower! The price is right, and it worked and was very easy to set.

I use this radio in my master bathroom every morning while getting ready for work. It has a small footprint so it doesn't take up alot of room on the counter and is very stylish so it fits in with the decor. This is a great radio! At last - a digital radio for the bathroom that isn't too small (my husband always knocks them over!) yet isn't too big. Because the hanging strap is not on center, the unit hangs crooked.

Also, reception is not good without the antennae, and that means the antennae must be routed on the wall, and that means you cannot pick up the radio and move it easily. Bummer.

The sound quality is much better than on previous shower radios we have had. Let's hope these c-cell batteries last longer than the previous radio which used 9 volt batteries.

Overall the product is as described. I utilize it mostly for AM stations but my wife will use it for FM. You don't need the antenna for AM but is necessary for FM - but is pretty descrete and works well.

I cannot tune into any of the Weather channels.

This turned out to be a great solution for having a small radio in the bathroom and a clock as well. It looks good on the counter, and is used daily in the morning. The weather channels are a boon for someone who is a weather junkie. The only con is the cord antenna, which needs a mirror or other place to stick up with a suction cup. Not sure that is really needed.

Low profile with good reception on most stations. Great little radio with terrific battery life. We own three of these radios and have them in two of our bathrooms and in the kitchen. Our neigbors commented that it sounded as good as their Bose Radio in their kitchen. I don't know about that, but we bought this one for them as a gift since they liked it so much. Terrific value for a sturdy useful little product.

Great product - I bought this for my husband as a gift and I enjoy it as much as he does. This is the first shower radio we've owned that actually has good sound. I live near a radio tower that is not my favorite station. With all dial/analog radios we would get the signal from that tower up and down the dial. Even after dialing into another local station, that tower would override that signal and start to seep thru the radio. This is great for sometimes getting even hard signals that we can't always get on our home stereo.

This is the 2nd one I own, bought one for my son for Xmas. After 6 years of everyday use, the old one continues to perform well. Pros = Timer On/Off extends battery life from 3 C batteries. Sony hit the mark on this one, big buttons on top, easy volume adjust on the side, easy preset buttons for annoying commercial breaks ;-)

I think some of the engineers actually used this in their showers and figured out that these small details and simplicity make this a great shower radio.

Only con: the plasma/plastic cover on the top (covers many of the push button controls) will leak after a few years, suggestion take a piece of clear packing tape and cover the top, and trim with scissors, this stops the plastic from aging and when the tape gets a little worn and is easily replaced while protecting the original plasma/plastic from aging and eventually leaking into the radio.

That's all I have, highly recommended for those that value things that last, are economical on batteries and are highly functional.

I've owned a Sony shower radio for many years, and finally the top flex panel cracked and allowed water into the electonics, and it died. But, it lasted many years (10 yrs?) Used it everyday.I had been able to put heavy-duty clear tape over the cracks that developed in the membrane, to prolong the life for about 2 more years. (Cracks developed after years of my fingernails pressing into the plastic membrane switches.The tape repair probably could last forever if you make sure it's solidly taped.And, if you don't have fingernails, you are "golden".)So, I bought another, and it should last 10 yrs or more. I also placed these radios in my vacation rental property-- one in each shower. I've tried cheaper ones-- and found them to be garbage. There are others from [...] -- but they are more expensive and larger, and may not have digital tuning. The Sony is simple, plays AM/ FM / TV and is very sensitive to signals. The antenna is a simple wire which can be moved around anywhere and can stay-put using a suction cup attachment. Don't waste your time or money on another brand-- the Sony design has remained exactly the same for many years, I guess because it works.( And the price has gone down over the years.)

This has got to be one of the nicest radio for the shower!
Don’t like listening to commercials or a certain song, no worries. All your favorite stations are easily programmed.
One touch auto shut off. So I don’t ever have to worry about forgetting to shut it off.

The only thing that would make it 100%, rather then 99.9%, is if there were suction cups at he back of the radio. This way when it hangs off the showerhead, it would sit flush and back.

Great tuner, sturdy. My only complaint is that after a lot of use the covering over the buttons wears away. I recommend putting a layer of clear duct tape over them before using, to prolong their life. Otherwise, it's nothing but good - we own three of them.

Excellent sound quality for a shower radio. Also, tuner is able to pick up radio stations that other shower radios have not been able to pick up.

The radio could have a better way to place the radio in the shower. The bottom of the radio is too big to sit at the top of the shower ledge and the suction cups and strap leave the radio dangling, kind of awkwardly. A hook to hang off of the shower nozzle would be good, or suction cups for the entire back of the radio.

Great reception in the shower. It replaces a similar unit that lasted nearly 8 years of everyday use. Only complaint, though, is that the previous unit had a TV band, which came in handy for listening to the Cubs TV broadcast team. Can't complain about the AM/FM/Weather reception, though -- it's nearly perfect. Love the timer option as well.

I have had several shower radios. This one is easy to set and use. Unfortunately, like all shower radios the reception is not great. There are only a few stations that come in clear, fortunately one of them is my favorite.

This is the fourth shower radio I've owned and it's the best. Unless you have a shelf ready and waiting or a conveniently located shower valve, you may need a suction cup to hang this radio from the shower wall. The controls are on the top surface so the radio has to hang at chest level or lower, but the display is on the front surface so I find myself lifting and tilting the radio to check the impact of my button pushing. Nice sensitivity, selectivity, stability, volume, tone, etc. Overall a good buy.

This is my second one. I've had the first one well over 5 years, and with the redo of my bathroom, I wanted a new radio, and wanted one just like the one I was replacing. I don't use it in the shower, but keep it on the vanity. Batteries last a very long time, and the presets make using it very easy to use. If you want a good battery powered radio to keep in the bathroom, this is it.
