Traveled with this for my daughter; used in the plane and in the car. For what I wanted it for, it was perfect. If you are looking for a high end, HD-like resolution, look elsewhere. As you probably read in other places, the screen does not have the greatest resolution, especially as one might expect from a Sony. That said, compare to any other screen in the price range and you are doing great. Also, the swivel screen and ability to make it tablet-style is terrific.

As for sound, we did not use headphones for my daughter, and she could hear it both on the plane and in the car. In the car, it was next to me on the center console, and I thought some of the sounds were coming from elsewhere. I was pretty impressed for portable DVD player speakers.

Unlike some other players I have read reviews about, this one has a very quite motor.

Battery life was perfect. I played it for several hours, and still had power to spare, which is great when you are flying from NYC to LA with no socket at the seat.

Lastly, had the opportunity to connect it to a TV in the hotel and found it very easy and picture was fine.

Bottom line, is it perfect, no. Does it do what I wanted it to do, without a doubt. Know what you want it for. And yes, the adults used it, too, and no complaints.
