As I mentioned I was thoroughly disappointed in the this product. All I heard was a lot of hissing sound. Plus, you had to be directly in front of the receiver. I was only 5 feet away and it still sucked. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. At one time Sony used to put a decent product. Not any more.

There is a moderate amount of white noise, or hiss. The directions describe the condition as occurring when the headphones are out of range, but my phones variably hiss all the time. I bought these for treadmilling while watching tv, so the hiss is tolerable. I like the powered docking cradle and auto On/Off feature.

I bought one for myself, the other for my boyfriend. We've watched movies and of course, listen to our music with these headsets. Used them on both a laptop,desktop, and our large stereo. Never have been disappointed with the sound of Sony.

I bought these headphones to play some latenight computer games and watch TV without disturbing anyone in the household. They aren't the highest-fidelity headphones money can buy, but for what they're designed to do, they perform admirably. Follow the simple instructions to properly setup the transmitter to your listening position, and you won't have any problems.

I bought these headphones so my husband could watch TV when we went to bed and it wouldn't disturb me. He wears hearing aids and without them on, he can hear TV better with the headset. He said, "I can even hear when they whisper." Sooo, we are both happy. He can watch TV and I can sleep.
