I bought this for my mother who is legaling blind. She listens to books on it. She uses this CD player 8-10 hours a day! This is our second Sony player in 3 years so I think that is pretty good considering how often it gets used.

I am not yet into I-pods, so I looked far and wide to find a portable CD player, preferably a SONY, that I could carry while running. Disappointed I couldn't find anywhere a higher-priced model with the best possible sound quality, but this machine is very adequate and plays well while I run, no skipping at all. I wished SONY still had the original sports model available, which had a strap built into the CD player; to protect this player I have to carry it in a pouch. I also bought a good quality set of earphones, to help increase the sound quality, but I am not sure that was worth it.

This is a simple no, frills CD player that we needed to play some of my daughter's therapy CDs that don't work in MP3 format. Works great.

I was looking for a reliable no frills CD player for listening to audio books. My only complaints about this unit are in it's design. The battery case is inside which means the CD must be first removed to change the batteries. This is very awkward on public transportation! The battery case is also located too close to the lid hinge which makes extracting the batteries difficult. I also find the volume controls annoying. A simple wheel control can be adjusted by braille.

This item does not come with any type of belt clip or attachment, so moving around with it is a bit awkward. I should have a carry case or something.
Also, the battery compartment door makes it hard to change the batteries. If I had know that, I might have looked at other types of players first.
Overall, this is a great player, played about 16 hours straight on a set of batteries,
The head phones are okay.

I take this with me on business trips, to listen to CDs in the hotel room. Sounds great. Don't know about the advertised long battery life, cuz I use the AC adaptor - always plug it in.
ABT, great service, fast delivery. I contacted customer service to find out about the AC adaptor I ordered with it, and even though it wasn't listed as working with the CD player, Customer Service said the specs are all the same, it should work, and I could return it if not. It works! Fast delivery, good price, ABT is now my new electronics store!

I use this handy small CD walkman while falling asleep. It shuts off after the CD is finished, just about the time I fall asleep.
ABT is a great, reliable company to deal with. My products arrived promptly in very good condition. Packaging was great.

I use this product at night to listen to motivational CDs. I like the clip style ear phones. They are very comfortable when wearing in bed. I do have trouble opening the case to change CDs.

While my grown children who are very savvy in the electronics world were skeptical of my buying/using this Sony Walkman Portable for my fast-walking exercise program, I purchased it anyway. Upon receiving it, I shook it vigorously while it was playing and could not make it skip! The quality of the sound is beyond what I expected and the purchase price was much less. The only was it could be better is if it would do my walking for me. [...] Thank you.
