I like to be able to listen to my morning radio station (93.3 Austin, TX) when I'm at work. I brought in a clock radio, but could never get good reception. I didn't want a huge radio on my desk. After having a hard time getting reception on the other one I wanted a digital dial so I wasn't guessing what station I actually had and could concentrate on moving around the antenna. This is the only product I could find that met all my needs. Come to find out, the reception is so great that I don't even need to manuever the antenna! It was more then I wanted to pay for a little radio, but I really love it and it looks sleek and it's small.

I wanted a small radio I could use in my kitchen and this is perfect. We've always had a reception problem in our kitchen and this is the first radio I've been able to use that has great reception. I love the digital tuning, too.

I bought this radio to replace a Sony purchased in 1981 (borrowed and not returned - they love it!). I prefer the old one - it came with an AC adaptor, was slightly larger, and had better reception. There is no weather reception on the new one; however it is smaller, more portable and has a clock, which is a plus. It is definitely worth the money, but I still wish I could find one exactly like the old one.

Nice radio, good sound quality. BUT, it has difficulty pulling in the weather stations. Also, it does NOT come with an AC adaptor... which costs almost as much as the radio and that is why I gave it only three stars.

I bought this radio over three years go and use it every day. I like the station pre-sets and the time display.It has a good sound quality. I recently dropped the radio and the antenae broke off, it still works but not great reception. So I bought another one. I figure when I find a replacement antenae I'll have two radios that I really enjoy.

You wouldn't think that this type of radio was hard to find, but it was! It is compact, has all the right features and works well. My wife is a delivery person with no radio in the vehicle. So she wanted a portable radio with a large enough speaker to be heard above the road noise yet small in its footprint. This is just the right product. Not too small or too large, large speaker, pre-set buttons. Real good, well made product.

I had one of these radios before and really liked it which is why I bought another just like it. I particularly like the ease of tuning and finding a station. The sound quality is not all that great but but I knew that when I bought it. Probably is fine for a small radio like this.

We use this radio for our motorhome travels. The digital tuner locks on to many stations my other radios do not. I like the fact that its very easy to hear at very low volume levels which is perfect for confined space use when traveling. It small and lightweight and the "lock" button is great for stopping accidental on / offs while in transit.

I love this little radio and am planning on buying another one for work. Given my varied musical and sports interests, I used to use three different radios depending on what I was in the mood for. Now, with the press of a button, I can switch stations on one radio to my heart's content. This radio also seems to get much better reception than any of my other small portables.

For a list price of [$], this Sony radio should have an auto scan feature. It might as well have an analog dial!The headphone jack is mono! If you listen through the headphone jack using stereo headphones, you only get sound out of the left side. For 10 cents they could have fixed this problem.

Purchased this producy as part of "Hurricane Emergency Preparedness Kit". I was impressed with the quality of the radio, without all the gimmicks of of so called emergency radios, ie; sirens, lights, etc. The one disapointment was no AC adapter comes standard with radio. Otherwise a great product.

SONY quality. Excellent reception. Crystal clear, very light weight and portable, excellent TV audio reception, digital tuning,perfect for un-expected power outages, sports on radio, etc. No AC cord, but who cares. This is the best radio on the market for picking up AM stations. The reception is excellent. It also picks up 13 TV stations, which for outdoor activities use can be useful. I now own two of them. I use it in my boat all the time in remote locations in the Louisiana marsh to listen to news, sports, music, etc.

However, after several years of development, Sony still hasn't fixed a bug in their weather feature. It has the capability to change weather bands, but in reality they are all the same.

I would also like to see TV stations pass Channel 13 (i.e., the UHF stations). Why not do this!?!?! It would be a great feature, and very doable.

High quality well-made portable radio for emergency use with readily available batteries. Very good reception for fm, am, weather and tv audio. Available adapter packaging indicates that it may cause noise on am band.

Consider the "20 presets" misrepresentation. There are actually only five -- per band. One for each of the five weather band stations is unnecessary; while only five for all the FM stations is insufficient. The time is only visible -- when the radio is OFF. When you select a station, only its frequency is displayed while playing, rather than toggling from frequency to time display -- ideally, to a lighted rather than its darkened time display.

Tweleve years ago, I bought a couple of these radios (an earlier version). They still work, but they are getting a little bashed up.

The new version is even better! It's not pocket sized, but it fits easily into your backpack, beach bag, etc. You can set it up wherever you are and you don't have to wear an earphone. Perfect for news, sports, talk radio, TV sound track, etc. Just adequate for backgound music.

I brought the radio to use in my bathroom. The size is great and doesn't take up much space. I love that I can program it to my favorite stations. My daughter loves it too and wants to get one for her bathroom.

It does all it was advertised to do. I question if the "Weather" band operates the way it should. ur Indianapolis NOAA station transmits on only 162.550, but the Sony receives 162.550 on all 7 Weather choices.
