I bought this as a gift for my sister. She loves using it for her iPod and CDs but many of the local radio stations come in fuzzy or not at all. The sound quality is good but could be better. Overall, it was a good purchase for the price and my sister seems to really be enjoying it!

We wanted an off the counter radio/cd-kitchen timer product, and this fits attractively under the cabinet with compact style, but the sound quality is not as good as I would like. So, try to listen to it before you buy it.

the radio was not too hard to install. it works very well at playing cd and i also connect my ipod to it and it works well. the radio has a bit of static, and i think i need to adjust the power cord to improve reception.

Installed easily, well thought out design. clock and readout is a bit small, but ok. The directions say to orient the unit to get good AM reception and then install it. Of course, I had to completely move my kitchen to do that. How stupid can Sony be?
What I did find is that other noise producers on the same AC circuit, such as a digital picture frame, produced huge noise that screwed up the AM terribly. Once that was unplugged, AM was ok. Should be an external antenna connection to make it better, or a knob to rotate the ferrite AM antenna. What a classic faux pas.

The contacts bent when I tried to insert the backup battery. I had to remove about a dozen tiny screws and pull the top cover off to straigten out the contacts and get the battery poitioned right. Also, I wish there was a seperate antenna - it uses the power cord so there is not much adjustment.

This is an attractive under-the-counter radio with built-in wiring and rack to hold an MPP3 player or iPod. It comes with a remote control, which is great, but there is nowhere to attach it to the unit, so it may get easily lost. The sound is great, and it is easy to program favorite channels. I am pleased with the purchase.

I like the looks and the fact it plays CD's. I am very disappointed that now I can't get my favorite FM radio stations. They came through fine on my old radio that I replaced. This new one is in exactly the same spot as my old one was.

We bought this new am-fm-cd-mp3-player radio for our condo in town because we liked our old one that's been in the kitchen of our cottage for some time.

The new one has better sound, better fm reception, a cd player and an aux audio input, and also seems to have all the positive attributes of the old one (reliability, ease of use, digital fine tuning, etc.). It has very good but not excellent radio reception because the antenna is built into the power cord and the orientation that the power cord is required to take in our current kitchen configuration isn't ideal. Maybe when we redo the kitchen later this year we can figure out a way route the power cord better.

This unit is replacing a similar Sony product which was working fine except for the fact that the "flat buttons" pushed totally through (as they eventually will with that type of button) rendering the equipment useless. I purchased this new unit because it works by using "old fashioned" push buttons which I believe should last much longer. I was especially pleased when I realized that the volume control isn't a button at all but rather a wheel on the side of the unit (little things make me happy).

Installation was fairly easy and one can easily figure out how to use the equipment without reading the instuctions. Sound quality is fine on CDs and adequate on radio stations.

Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase.

This is the first undercabinet radio I've owned and was nervous purchasing one for my wife for Christmas. However, after reading reviews of other radios and then this one, this seemed the best fit for me. The result has been a great radio, great sound, nice features and good quality I would expect from Sony.

The only problem was the radio reception (something common to all these types of radios, it seems). Before I mounted it, the reception was amazing, but after mounting it it was terrible, and I can only receive one station. Since the antenna is the power cord, the location and position of it where I've mounted the radio all combine to poor reception (it's the only place I can mount it as well).

The good news is we really play CDs so it is perfect for our needs. I'll figure out something about that reception somehow....

Caution - The template is easy to drip holes, but recommend bringing the template forward by 1/2 inch for more attractive dispay under the cabinet so it can be flush with the underside of the cabinet

This is a very nice unit like most other things made from Sony. The sound is very good for such a small unit. Easy to install. Radio has good reception. Buttons are easy to understand. The attached drop-down cable is very useful for running my mp3 player music into it. The only thing that it could really use is a weather radio but that's not a deal breaker.

This unit replaced a GE undercounter radio CD player. There is No comparison between the two. GE sounded tinny all the time, plus it failed in its first year. The Sony sounds every bit as goo as a Bosse radio, and the CD player sound is awsome.

I was hesitant to purchase this item after reading about some problems with reception. I decided to go ahead buy it and see for myself. I mounted it under my kitchen cabinet. Very easy to install. Plugged it in, and went through the stations to see how many I could get. To my surprise, I received more stations than I'll ever listen to. All my favorites and many, many more. The reception is very, very good. I have no complaints about this radio and would recommend it to anyone who is considering buying one.

The Sony CD Clock Radio has easy to understand controls and clear sound. We are really enjoying it. The only negative, it was a bit hard to attach to the bottom of the cabinet.

it fits the bill, just what I wanted,the remote funtion is a plus and the ability to just stick it on the fridge door was a great thought.
I do have a little problem with the adhesive to hold the cord to the cabinet, but I added some double side tape.

Spend the extra money!

I live on the fringe of a metro and some stations crossover. Not a big thing. This unit is much better than the unnamed brands that cost under $40. Spend the extra money. You do get what you pay for on this type of device.

I have been waiting to get this for the longest time and finally after remodeling the kitchen decided to purchase it and I am glad I waited as I got a great deal. With the template that was provided, installation was a breeze; took all of 10 min. Now I can have great music while I cook and it doesn't take up valuable counter space. This model also has a built-in audio cable so I can hook up my IPOD to it.

Sony does it again!

We bought this radio when we remodeled our kitchen and it couldn't have been easier to install. Great sound, slim design, the internal antenna seems to work fine with both AM & FM stations. (provided you follow the suggestions and not place it near your fridge, microwave, range, etc.) We spend a lot of time in our kitchen and this just makes it all the more enjoyable!

Looks great and sleek. Sounds so much better that the GE I replaced with this Sony. I can turn it up and get a super-rich sound. Not 'hollow' as before. I would recommend this at 100%!

Overall I like it, especially the easy use of the minute timer. However, the front panel LCD display of the time cannot be read from more than several yards away (unlike my old GE LED undercounter unit); also reception is very dependent on orientation of the power cord & I have trouble getting a good signal for some distant stations that I could before. However, on stations that it receives well, the sound quality is great. All in all I'm not sorry I bought this model & received excellent service from abt.

Did considerable research on best models of this type of under-counter radio and knew the Sony was at or near the top. [...] Love the magnetic remote that sticks to bottom of unit or on frig, sound is very good, the instructions for install went perfect with four holes lining up exactly where they needed to connect with unit. Replaces a reliable unit of 20 years and already we wish we'd found this years ago.
