The iPod Shuffle is so light it's perfect for running - you can just put it in your pocket and go for a couple of hours with no problems. If you want to use it at home or as your primary music source, its memory is too small. Even 1GB really isn't much.

The lack of a screen will definitely annoy you.

I use the Shuffle to listen to podcasts all the time and it's fantastic. It's smart enough to not include them when you put the device in shuffle mode (only "music" plays). It also remembers where you left off if you skip to the next track. The rewind/forwarding is confusing, though -- again, this would be better if a screen gave some sort of feedback.

Still, if you're looking for something simple and cheap for your jogs, this is it.
