Replaced my DMP-BD55 with the 85. The internet features are great for NetFlix streaming. Blu-Ray picture is just as good as the 55 and the DVD upconversion is slightly improved. Highly recommend this player.

I use this blu-ray player in my home theater. I bought it to upgrade to wi-fi. It replaces my Panasonic blu-ray with ethernet connection. I never used the ethernet, but I am using the wi-fi. Wish we could get more selection via wi-fi. Since I had a Panasonic before I knew what to expect. Other than the wi-fi upgrade everything else seems the same or similar. I started with Panasonic because they had good reviews when blu-ray first got popular a couple of years ago. In the past all my Sony products broke (usually within a week after warranties expired)--even the expensive models. I had bad luck with Marantz too. Other brands may be passing Panasonic by now, but I prefer to stick with reliability.

The Panasonic DMP-BD85K player was purchased to replace a very problematic and very poorly supported Samsung BD-UP5000. (I will never buy another Samsung product.) The Panasonic player is an excellent performer and an excellent value.

i have been a big fan of panasonic electronics for years. this is one area where buying the more expensive brand has always paid off for me. after several televisions, vcr's, and dvd players, i can honestly say that they have all superseded my expectations, and this blu-ray player is no different. i chose this one for the wifi connectivity for netflix and youtube, and it works great. very user-friendly. great picture. would definitely recommend.

Poor implementation of Netflix, no search capability like on PS3 or some of the LG's

The Ethernet port is slower than Wi-fi. Customer support at Panasonic is not knowledgeable about own product.

Great Blu-Ray player with built-in wi-fi. The setup was a breeze. Built in Netflix and Amazon Video on demand that work great! Make sure you have high-speed wireless connection to enjoy the streaming services. Picture quality is just amazing. Can't beat Panasonic product quality
