I have a 720p TV and can't afford BluRay, so this is a good alternative. I notice a difference with upscaling DVD players using HDMI (versus a standard DVD player). The last one I had was similarly priced from Sony and it only lasted about 14 months. Hopefully this one is a bit more durable. It feels a little cheap to the touch, but looks nice. Good value.

The bose sysytem was easy to install, the only problem i encountered was the Up-Converter was sending a signal to the Bose and my picture quality was garbage. I had to turn off the Up-Converter (default 420p) so the signal would not be interrupted to the Bose sysytem. The Bose system Up-Convertered the signal for the tv. No instructions books for that, had to call Bose.

If you have a Samsung TV, this is the way to go. It detects the upconverter automatically and the remotes works for both. Picture quality is very good.
