I really needed this product. It saves so much storage space by allowing the DVDs to be held internally and not sitting upon a rack someplace collecting dust. The DVD selection process is painless and scanning through the 400 is easy. It allowed me to do some early Spring cleaning.

It is rather large, ie-taller, but it has to be to hold that many DVD's. They load like a jukebox. I love the fact that it plays both DVD's & CD;s. It is nice to have a player that plays both and not to have to have two different machines to play them, one machine does it all. If the player doesn't "read" the title, you can title it yourself. It has an onscreen menu to select the one you want. It is wonderful not to have all the cases in drawers and towers all around the living room, cleans up the clutter. [...]You will not be sorry if you buy this, it is everything you ever dreamed of and more.

i bought this because i have the 400 CD changer also, takes a bit to load but once its done your dont have to go looking for cd,s or Dvd,s. i havent had any trouble with either unit and as far as being slow its still alot faster than looking and loading. key board and 1 more person is the fast and easy way to load. thanks Bill

This is an excellent DVD player and the ability to store all of your DVD's in one place is magnificent. Easy to use with a great picture. HDMI output jack makes for simple, less cluttered hookup. I have owned other Sony 300 and 400 disk changers and never been disappointed in their performance. I am hoping Sony will develop a 400 disk Blu-Ray player someday!

I've read that this player tend to loose the entire movie list that takes weeks and weeks to enter. I've contacted Sony prior to purchasing it and they said it's not true...

This past week, I moved the player 10 inches without lifting it off the ground or tilting it. When i powered it on yesterday, the entire movie list was GONE!!! Every movie had a "?" sign next to it instead of a movie name. It's extremely dumb of Sony not to have a usb connection to a PC so you can upload your list from spreadsheet back to the player. Luckily, I've created a spreadsheet.

So all i need now is to spend another weekend retyping the names all over again. Sony should be ashamed for releasing such a flimsy product....

It takes awhile to load 400 discs but its worth it. It frees up lots of space otherwise taken up by jewel cases.
The title dispaly is a useful software function necessary after loading so many discs. Be sure to read pg 43 of the manual and be ready to spend time on the couch.

Great for movie lovers and their collections. Upscales to 1080i through HDMI, and picture looks great. Audio outputs to fit any setup (coax digital, optical, 5.1 out, HDMI, analog 2ch)

Had the player for about 2 weeks. Still Entering all my DVDS. This thing replaced a 3 year old Pioneer Elite player - this Sony kicks the Pioneer Elite in picture quality and sound quality (granted it is newer) - the Sony is a great player.
