I purchased this product primarily to transfer VHS to DVD. It is very easy to use for this purpose - essentially a single push of a button is all that is needed. In addition, I am using it to playback DVD's onto a 50" Pioneer Plasma screen via HDMI -- the interface and the remote are easy - direct and there is good functionality and the automatic detection features (for display size wide screen etc..) are very convenient. I recommend this product - particularly for the money.
