Like the Direct TV service but don't like the operation of the new Direct TV DVR. The TiVo/Direct TV units were much nicer and more user friendly. Oh well... things change still a great unit and a great price.

For people upgrading to the HD-20 700es unit, it gets a little complicated from what you are used to. Once you get acclimated, it's okay. The HD veiwing is outstanding!

The product performs as advertised, but is not well designed. Picture jumps significantly when changing between resolutions. Software is not user friendly. Insufficient controls available to user such as user determines which format to record in, or to turn on features like USB ports. The ROM card was not included, fortunately I could use the one from the unit that this DVR was supplanting. DirectTV customer support people are not yet consistently well informed about this product.
