I use the Tivo box to record shows when I am not able to watch them. And it is great to be able to schedule recordings remotely from a computer but have yet to find a Tivo mobile app. The most disappointing thing about having your own Tivo box is that Comcast and other providers do not allow one to access On Demand channels. Prohibiting this access tremendously reduces the amount of programming that can be recorded. This is something that no one openly tells you about. Not the retailer nor the cable service. However, you can access On Demand channels but with the rental of a cable companies' Tivo box. I see this as double charging, rental box fee and programming charges. Another dislike is that without an HD TV or a TV without HDMI the picture quality of stored photos is very poor. This is probably not a Tivo shortcoming but if you are using an older TV don't expect even good picture quality. Lastly, some of the programming offered by Tivo is awful example being Framechannel. Its free but it stinks. Oh, one more thing. Tivo suggests and records channels but it does not seem to learn what your preferences are and ends up filling the Tivo box with a lot of programming that you'll never watch nor want to. Turn this feature off otherwise you'll need to delete them individually. No, there is no batch delete function. Tivo needs to add that function!
