Comments about Samsung Samsung 40" HDTV LCD Flat Panel TV:
Unequivocally, the Samsung LNS4096D is currently the best Liquid Crystal Display television available on the consumer retail market due, simply, to the rich fulgent dark colours displayed and the true separations of dark shadows from dark objects place in the foregrounds. This television is the only to generate a better dark colour then all plasma flat panels. The pellucid horizon sound reflector, espoused directly bellow the audio speakers, represents a rarefied appearance desired within any contemporarily furnish room.
Furthermore, the only set back would the lack of low frequency sound generated by the audio processors when listening to musical concerts, particularly the Jazz Double-Bass; the simple solution is to purchase an inexpensive 5.1 surround sound system with a self powered bass. This is a television not an audio system.
The LNS4096D is a true winner, great value, and an exceptionally attractive design.

The most awesome picture you will ever see...if you can get a 1080p signal. (Comcast cable is a joke, but that's another story)
The TV is mesmorizing, but again it is contigent on a quality signal. DVD's are nowhere near as sharp as the TV signal. The TV simply picks up too many flaws in their signal.
As for the sound of the TV's two speakers, it is average as best. Surround sound is necessary. The TV's own speakers have virtually no bass.
Overall a great TV with a "to die for picture" but only with quality HDTV signals.
