[...] The picture is absolutely awesome. I expected a great picture, but it exceeds my expectations. I do have it hooked up to an A/V receiver and quality surround sound speakers for added listening pleasure. I also have it hooked to a HD-DVR and a DVD recorder (BLU-RAY is next on my wish list). I kept reading about the sound being not so great I do not find this to be true, . The sound straight from the TV is great. I own a lot of Panasonic equipment and knew I could rely on their quality along with exceptional customer service from ABT. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase.

This TV has a sleek design, the controls and connections are easy to access, and it has a great picture. I am using it with a Panasonic 7.1 ch home theater system connected via an HDMI cable and the two units work well together.
The only issue I had was I had a problem updating the firmware that allows use of the Vieracast feature, and was not very impressed with the technical support from Panasonic.

Panasonic has made a great Plasma. Granted, this isn't quite to the level of a Pioneer Elite, however, for a THIRD of the price, it's really 85% of a Pioneer Elite. The black levels on this thing are very similar to the old CRT's black levels'. This Panny even beats out the $5000+ Sony XBR9 LCD display--in my opinion. Yes, the Sony is very good, but it can't get the blacks this thing does. I'm primarily a movie watcher and the THX feature is very, very close to ISF calibration. Finally, for [$], this thing is a KILLER VALUE!!!

I find it better to not use any presets. Keep it on Standard and adjust to how you see fit. Great buy.

This tv has a gorgeous picture. Great for home theater setup. Glad I stepped up to the 54" from the 50" I was considering. The only minor criticism I would have is the tv sound is average. Plenty of inputs. Very happy with this tv.
Quick shipment. TV was delivered in good shape, no problems at all.
Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 54" VIERA G10 Series Black Plasma Flat Panel HDTV:
Excellent TV for home use. I mainly use it for Blu-Ray watching. The picture is a large step up from the rear projection Sony 1080i TV I had been using. The increase in fine detail is amazing. The NeoHD Plasma display gives a full 1080 lines of motion resolution, unlike earlier displays that would only specify 900 lines or better even in a 1080p display. Brightness is excellent, and this is a plasma set that can be watched without waiting for darkness. The field of view is excellent, and you don't get appreciable changes in picture quality if you're viewing at a reasonable angle. The set has internet connectivity, but I haven't figured out if this feature is actually worth using. There are some things that went wrong in the design worth commenting on. First, some people buy this for THX mode. Don't. That mode has highly inaccurate color. You'll get best results using the custom mode setting, and a decent calibration disk. Also, the input for direct cinema@24p was implemented poorly. You have the option of 48 or 60Hz. 48Hz is too slow, and you'll see flickering. 60 Hz cannot give you a true 24 frames per second, so you have to utilize 3:2 pulldown, which the direct 24fps input was supposed to eliminate. Panasonic made a poor choice at 48Hz, and that mode should have been timed at 72 or 96 Hz to avoid flicker. Even so, the display at 60 Hz is good enough to forgive this problem. Another issue is the use of color/hue controls rather than separate control of red/green/blue. Please don't let this list make you think that there are problems with the set. Concessions sometimes have to be made to hit a price-point. It's a great set for the money, and you have to spend more, sometimes by a lot, to get appreciably better performance in these areas.I strongly recommend downloading the free burn-in screens located at [@], along with the settings that should be used during the burn-in. This procedure will help avoid image-retention during the early burn-in phase of the set, and will result in stabler brightness, contrast, and color settings once the procedure is completed.Summary: I looked at a bunch of sets before deciding which to buy. The Panasonic G10 series appeared to be the set to beat at its price point. I didn't find anything that could be it, so I bought it. [...]

Great TV. HD picture is outstanding. SD picture is very good (as good as 480i/480p can be). Decent sound from the built in speakers. The user manual lacks detailed descriptions of the numerous settings. This is my third Panasonic plasma TV. I have never had any problems with any of them. I strongly recommend the G line of Panasonic plasma TV's.

This is our first HDTV, and we did not know what we were missing. I spent hours researching online and in stores. We were impressed with the Panasonic plasma reviews and prices (compared to the Pioneer models) but wanted the size options available with the LCD models. Found out there was a 54 inch plasma model coming in May 2009 and waited for the debut. ABT was one of the first retailers with the 54" Panasonic Plasma HDTV in stock, with a fair price, and also offered a price match for 30 days. I would definately recommend ABT electronics and Panasonic. [...]we love our new 54" Panasonic Viera G10 series Plasma flat screen.
Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 54" VIERA G10 Series Black Plasma Flat Panel HDTV:
A great budget minded plasma for users filling large viewing areas. Controls are well thought out, and offer easy access to common functions.
Picture quality is good, but don't let the 600hz sub field specification confuse you. Actual display value is subjectively somewhere in between that of a 60hz and 120hz LCD.
Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 54" VIERA G10 Series Black Plasma Flat Panel HDTV:
I usually do a lot of research before buying Electronics or any Technology for that matter. I chose the Panasonic after doing extensive research and also trusting [@] on their ratings for this TV. They are a very reliable source because of the extensive testing they put the various Televisions's through prior to releasing them to the public. This TV is extermely easy to setup right out of the box. If you have even a somewhat lit up room, the THX setting with all the defaults looks the best. You can adjust the Custom setting and alter the colors a bit, but I think overall the THX is perfect using all the defaults. The picture blew me away when I started watching it. The blacks are so deep, and after seeing many plasma's out there, I don't think the picture gets any better for the money you spend on this model. Viera Cast is great with the LAN hookup to watch Youtube videos, and streaming weather. I also heard that Netflix is soon to come for live streaming video. I think its also nice if a firmware update needs to be performed, its just simply plugging in the Ethernet cable and downloading it directly.Overall, I would highly recommend this TV to anyone! I am very satisfied with this product.
