One of the primary considerations for purchasing this stand was the dimensions, since it had to fit in a specific area no more than 54" wide. It met these requirements and was highly recommended by the sales rep, so I decided to try it out.

One to the prerequisites was to have an all metal construction, with glass shelving, and upon receiving it I was surprised to see that much of the facia and back panel were of wood composite. However, since the finish of these components was of such high quality, with a fine gloss enamel surface, they worked well, with no wood particles sluffing off, etc.

The assembly worked reasonably well, with the only problem being the cam operated fasteners for the end supports, which I've found to be problematic with other similar cabinet assemblies from a variety of manufacturers. They simply do not provide a positive lock and sometimes loosen if the unit is moved around. However, it's a simple matter to tighten them again.

The glass shelving is top notch, with the top platform that supports the TV engineered very well. It supports 150#+ and is bolted to the main steel frame with no movement whatsoever. The other two shelves are also well constructed and fit properly, with easy removal for moving the stand. As for moving, with the two lower shelves removed, it's relatively light weight, although somewhat cumbersome with the top shelf still attached. But by placing it on it's back, it can then be easily picked up and moved around. If you really want something light weight to move, simply remove the 4 top shelf bolts and you have it!

From a capacity standpoint, it should work well with many components, including most A/V receivers, disk players, etc., as the shelves are quite wide and deep. Just make sure the height dimensions between shelves is appropriate for anything else like speakers. While most sound bars will fit well, other speakers may not, as was the case with my Klipsch units. Fortunately, the middle shelf projects far enough forward from the top one that I was just barely able to accommodate my center and two stereo speakers on it, for a clean and very functional setup.

All in all, this Tech-Craft stand is a very good choice for most LCD, DLP, and Plasma TVs that don't exceed 150# and aren't much over 50" actual width (not screen dimension which is diagonal measurement). Fit and finish are top notch and except as noted above, I found it to be excellent for my needs.
