overall a good tv. everything as expexted...clarity, ease of use, contrast ratio. colors are rich and true. I only have 2 samll complaints that are rather insignifigant to me. 1. I can see the screen surface when white or light areas appear on screen. Iwould say it looks kinda like thousands of tiny dots on the surface. I sit more than a foot beyond sonys recommended min viewing distance. It is not a source video problem i have a ps3 and hdmi cable, 1.3. I would still buy the tv though so it is not a real big deal. 2. the digital tuner does nothave a programming guide like an hdtv set top tuner that i have. it does show what is on, but not whats coming up or a screen that shows whats on all channels. still, not a dealbreaker. overall, 9 out of 10 so far. value for money paid, 10 out of 10. i paid [$] inclu. everything. remember you will need to replace the bulb every 5000 or so hours and current prices appear to be between 150 and 250 dollars. keep in mind when calculating initial vs long term cost

After going through two replacement units of a Panasonic projection TV from another online retailer, this set is working beautifully and I was able to buy it for a tad less than the previous sets I had a bad experience with.
Delivery was relatively quick and the shipping company communicated clearly when delivery would take place and followed through. Not bad for free shipping.

The product is excellent, especially considering the price (sony has discontinued rear projection tvs, so get it while you can). Hooked up to a ps3 the games and blu-ray movies are crystal clear thanks to 1080p support. Also watch HD with dish network, though broadcast HD isn't as clear as direct 1080p sources (aka blu-ray), but after watching NASCAR in HD, I can't go back to SD ever again.
The only negatives (rear projection related) I can think of is that fact that the lamp has a warm up time, so for the first minute after turning it on, it isn't very bright. Also later down the road (4-5 years) you got to replace the lamp, but there is a door and is supposed to be extremely easy to replace.
The delivery was within the time frame listed. The delivery company called and setup a delivery time for delivery and was on time. Unfortunately they called on monday, but only delivered to houses on wednesday's so I had to wait 2 extra days, but I didn't mind especially since shipping was free.

It's a Sony. They make great TV's. For the price this is as good a TV as the HDTV's 2 -3 times the price. The picture is amazing and it's so easy to setup and use. Just a great value. The only problem I have is it widens out all programs in HD format so programs that aren't HD look funny - everything is so wide. That may be fixable but I just don't know how to yet. The fan noise is only a problem at first and then with the volume on it's really no problem at all - you get used to it. Unfortunately Sony is not making these anymore as of early 08' so if you can still buy one get it. You won't be disappointed.
Abt has some of the best service there is. I don't say that often but it makes such a difference. Excellent company to deal with.

I searched for months and months before I made my decision and this is what I came to. For one, well its a Sony, and 2 its a 1080p TV you can get for just a little over $1000. I've owned it for a day so far, and from what I can tell its perfect! Viewing angle is great! Normally with projection TV's if you aren't standing right in front of it, you can't see a picture, but this one can be viewed by nearly all angles! The picture quality is better than a flat panel, as yes it can acctually do blacks, and its lightning fast for gaming! PC input is awesome as well. hook a PC up to it and you really do have a 46inch monitor!
Shipping wasn't bad. I ordered it on a friday and got it on a wednesday, however the tracking service is very poor. The only things left on it were "a new domestic shipment has been created" and "freight booked". Never was told when it arrived in Indy, I had to make some phone calls to find out where it was. But I got it, and I got it in one piece, and its hard to complain too much about free shipping!

Although I wish it had just one more HDMI input. Overall, it is a great unit. I use it as a monitor for my computer, and when the screen saver kicks in it shows my personal family photos. At 1080P it works great for TV, DVDs, etc. (normal stuff). I looked at larger untis but it is the right size for my room. The price point is excellent.
Service and delivery were seamless. I changed the location and time of delivery and it came off without a hitch.

energy star which is good on bigger tvs, power takes about a min to come on, a little less to go off. the menu is different from analog tvs. my kids love the freeze button. havent figured out most of the tv yet.

The TV is a good choice for the money. It is esy to set up, except for the PC interface which still isn't configured. THe picture is excellent and the sound is acceptable. I will hook it up to my audio system and then the sound from the TV doesn't matter. Overall, I am pleased with the unit.
ABT proccesed the order efficiently. Delivery was as agreed and flexible. The delivery service accommodated delivery on the day/time I requested and delivered to an alternate address at the last minute. I live in a high rise and they had to negotiate the loading dock under the building and then find my suite. Great job guys!

I had researched HDTV's for a good two weeks before making my purchase. This model seemed to have the most bang for the buck. I have to say I am NOT disappointed. The picture looks amazing! I have an HD cable package and the channels look fantastic comapred to the SD channels.
Blu-ray movies and PS3 games look unreal.
I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone who is on the fence. Awesome deal!
Delievery was fast. It took less than a week. No complaints :D

This tv is a great buy. [...]This tv is great for PS3 games (picture quality is amazing) as well as blue ray dvds. Picture quality gets a little fuzzy if you do not have a cable box with an HD set up. Thats what happened to me but thats only because im a broke graduate student (maybe next semester)!

As the title says, you will not be disappointed!!!
Before purchasing this unit, I did my homework comparing Flat Panels, DLP and LCD Rear Projection.
I settled on this unit as I did not need a flat panel for wall hanging, nor was I willing to commit to DLP because of color wheel & rainbow issues.
Not only is the HD signal superb on this unit, but even the Standard Definition signal shows a major improvement. Using an HD Cable Box, I have this TV hooked up to a Sony Receiver with the sound processed through Bose speakers. The sound is incredible.
I especially like the 'Picture Mode' function. This allows you to select among 'Vivid' (for a very bright & enhanced picture), or 'Cinema' (for a more theater-like, darkened experience) or 'Standard' (for everyday - not critical viewing).
And if that were not enough, the replaceable lamp is another excellent feature. Rated at 5,000 to 8,000 hours of use, you would basically have a brand new TV when replaced. If a typical flat panel screen malfunctions, I do not know if there are any replaceable parts.
I could not be happier!!!
Ordered on Saturday, delivered on Friday via custom freight in excellent condition. Will definitely buy again from ABT...

I've just used it with SD DirectTV and the Wii, but even with SD signals, the TV picture is sharp and clear. Perhaps next year for Christmas, a Blue-Ray will be in the picture and I can really get to use all that resolution.
We ordered from ABT over the holidays and the delivery came as promised. The TV's was well packed and we had no problems at all. ABT's price was unbeatable.

Bought this product as a gift for my son. He says it works great and has a great picture. He also says it has improved his gaming scores.
