Comments about JVC JVC Super VHS Hi-Fi VCR - Black Finish:

This is a good product overall. I have issues with the blandness of the remote control and the console's shell seems a bit dated. The onscreen graphics are more jagged then my old Sharp VCR's. But the main reason I got this VCR was to transfer tapes to my DVD recorder. The built in video calibration is great. I transferred a 24 year old VHS recording. I was happy with the results. (Be sure to turn off the "Superimpose" function in the onscreen menu, otherwise you will see the words "Video Calibration" transferred onto your new recordings.) Another concern of mine was it would eat up my precious 24 year old tape... the rewinder does a good job of slowing down near the beginning of the tape. I was so confident with the rewinder that I actually ended up rewinding that old video tape 5 or 6 times. No tape snapping there.
