Great Price
By ComTecProVerified Purchaser from Seattle on 2/2/2007
Pros:
Large Display
Cons:
Remote control limitation

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

Though advertised as coming with a "Univeral Remote", it's TV compatabilty is limited to only 10 choices. Most "Univeral remotes have a list of 50 or more choices to match with the TV.
My TV was not on the list, so I'm stuck using 2 remotes.

Cons:

Best Uses:
Recording from TV, Watching Movies

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

It's hard to find just a VCR on it's own. Because we are very limited to space in our RV, we didn't want the usual DVD/VCR combo that you find in all the stores. This fits the bill perfectly, it's just what we were looking for.[...].

Happy with VCR
By MFH from NY on 1/4/2007
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Set Up
Cons:
Slow stopping feature
Best Uses:
Recording from TV, Watching Movies

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

I had a Panasonic VCR for 16 yrs. This is not as good, but is still acceptable for me. The stopping feature on the remote when you press FWD or RWD and then PLAY is very slow, way too slow. You then have to RWD again to get to the spot where you want to stop. All other features so far are good. Only have had it a few weeks, so don't know about how long it will last.

Quality VCR at an Affordable Price
By PiVerified Purchaser from New York, NY on 11/15/2006
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Picture
Cons:
Search is too fast
Best Uses:
Recording from TV, Watching Movies

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

Great product with the usual Panasonic high quality. Only real weakness (and this is a nit-pick) is that the search feature is too fast. My last VCR could search in 2 speeds: slow and fast. This one just has a superfast speed, and things whiz by before you can hit stop. Takes some getting used to, but overall, I'm very satisfied.

By RainmannVerified Purchaser from Redmond,WA on 10/23/2006
Pros:

Cons:
Channel swapping slow
Best Uses:
Watching Movies

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

We brought this machine to allow us to access the local library's set of videos. The picture quality from these tapes is very good. No problems with tracking etc. Not seen any problems with search speed, but we are using pre-recorded videos so only skipping to the beginning of the movies. Not yet used it to record anything so cannot comment on that set of features. Easy to set-up and connect to existing TV. Remote can be used with most major brands of TV for controlling volume etc. For the price [...]it is very good value. Cannot comment on reliability yet as only had it for 3 weeks. So far no problems

Cons:

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

Wonderful sound quality in addition to great picture especially for price. No S-Video is the only negative I can conjure, and that's unimportant to me since I have no S-Video tapes. I'd definitely buy again and highly recommend it. [...]

User friendly programming
By RichMLM [...] from Minnesota USA [...] on 7/10/2006
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Great Picture
Best Uses:
Dorm Room, Home, Movies, Office, TV

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic 4-Head VHS Hi-Fi Stereo VCR - Silver Finish:

I LOVE the ease of programming. It's intuitive, fast, and easily changed. The rewind is very fast. So even rewinding from the end of the tape requires little waiting. Fortunately for the tape, the machine does gradually slow down as it approaches the beginning of the tape, thus making it easier on the tape.
I haven't yet used the fancy features such as indexing. The commercial skip allows you to skip ahead 1, 2, or 3 minutes. But the skip speed is so fast, that it takes the tape a while to get back to normal play speed.
Granted, a hard disk player (DVR) is even more convenient than any VCR, but there's also a premium price for a DVR, plus in most cases a monthly fee. For four or five months worth of a common DVR fee you'd have paid for this entire VCR, and then with the DVR you'd have to CONTINUE paying and paying.
