Bought new to take on a trip to Costa Rica. I did not have time to read the manual, so I left all settings in the Automatic mode. Pictures were amazing in clarity and detail. Image Stabilization Technology works great, even in low light situations. After considering Nikon and other 10+ Mega Pixel cameras, I felt the Canon XSi was the best value for the money I was willing to spend.
Abt is a rock solid online store to buy high tech equipment from. Competitive prices, good email follow-up, quick shipping, good packaging.

I absoluty love this camera. I was afraid I would be disappointed considering the amount of money that was spent on it and all the accessories. I haven't put it down since I got it. I actually took pictures in a darkened room and you would not know the room was dark. The details are great. It is also so easy that my 10 year old is taking nice pictures.

We've had Canon digital Elphs for years and likely both the camera and the ZoomBrowser EX software---great with MAC and WinXP. This camera is a good combination of pricing, feature set, and technology. The Nikons were under consideration (owing to being a longtime owner of an F3) as well, but a BIG step up in cost for similar features. Price match came into play and when it went further on sale over July 4th, I got the additional difference. ABT is the place to go when you are informed about a product and have done your price comparisons.
Great free delivery to Chicagoland/NW Indiana (90 mi)is hard to beat.

This is an outstanding SLR package to get started with. I previously owned a Canon FTBn back in the days of film, and have wanted to get a digital SLR for some time. This package is a great place to start. Very easy to use, even if you are impatient with fully reading the instruction manual! Uses multiple points for auto focus; shutter operates just as fast as a regular camera. The lens that comes with it is okay to start with - the Fstop isn't particularly wide and the zoom doesn't cover quite enough distance, but if you are a first time user or staring up with a new digital SLR, it is more than adequate. There are MANY Canon lenses for this system that are VERY advanced. The price ranges for Canon products are reasonable and cover the gamut of user levels from the novice to the professional. Other features include self cleaning and a feature that accomodates dust and eliminates its affect on the picture.

Our first SLR and we definitely have no regrets. I researched all the new SLR models from Nikon and Sony and this was hands-down the best bang for the buck. While definitely a bit more complicated than Canon's point-n-shoot line, the learning curve isn't too bad.
