Comments about Canon Canon PowerShot S90 Black 10 Megapixels Digital Camera:
Spent six weeks searching the web and reading reviews for countless cameras. Narrowed choice down to a few and opted for the S90. Almost intuitive menus; and understanding improved greatly just by going out and using the camera,,,(the user's manual is less than stellar). Each successive trip is yielding better and better photos (color, tone, image quality) as I learn to master all the manual and priority settings. Have even gotten used to the fact that this Canon has no VF. Did buy a custom grip online for better handling and eliminated the loose wheel issue.
Perhaps Canon will modify future versions of the S90 to address the slippery grip issue.

Comments about Canon Canon PowerShot S90 Black 10 Megapixels Digital Camera:
I replaced my older "point and shoot" camera with the Canon S90. I am using it more than my DSLR. Light weight, durable and easy to use. The 2.0 lens makes it a great camera for low light situations. It also worked great in the snow (Snow mode and Movie mode) even after getting a little wet. I am not fond of the retractable lens but it is fast to start up and fast to shut down. The ability to adjust the camera in Av, TV, M and P and a major plus in this point and shoot camera. Most casual users may migrate to these features as they progress in the hobby but the auto and SCN (scene) modes are great for beginners and casual users. This is a high-end point and shoot camera that I would highly recommend you buy from ABT.

Comments about Canon Canon PowerShot S90 Black 10 Megapixels Digital Camera:
Excellent pocket point-and-shoot. Yes, the controls are small, but very easy to get used to. My only real [*] about the camera, after having it for three weeks, now, is that its dynamic range is fairly limited: a lot of pics have washed-out flesh tones, as the camera attempts to balance the exposure of the entire pic. Lower-contrast situations yield better photos. I have yet to experiment with RAW, so this may just be the way the thing processes JPGs. The only other [*] is some shutter lag. But you must realize that this is a pocket-sized point-and-shoot, not an SLR--although it's tempting to compare it to an SLR, because it's just that good! Overall, an excellent camera, which offers lots of manual control if you want it, logically organized, and it's just killer in low light.

I bought this camera for taking outdoor pictures for my upcoming trip to Costa Rica in January. From all the test shots taken at home, I think this camera will suit my needs perfectly. :)I would have given this camera 5 stars if not for the flash popping up where I place my left finger. I need to remember to place my left hand on the lens ring. :)
