Comments about Canon Canon EOS 7D Black 18 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera:
I have had Canon DSLRs since the day the EOS10D was introduced and have always been amazed by the quality of Canons.
However, I always kept looking at the 5D and never could afford it. with EOS 7D, you can now feel one step closer to the Full Pro models of Canon.
It is the poor man's (well not exactly..) 5D.
Canon has done wonders with the 7D.
While photo enthusiasts may find it a bit disappointing that all the present modes have gone away, Canon has replaced them with the ability for you to have 3 custom settings on the dial. This is great for users who frequently have to change the settings even after selecting a present mode.
It also allows for shooting at up to 8fps which is great when doing sports shots.
Canon also puts in their Dual Digic 4 processors in these cameras, which allows for ISO ratings up to 128000 (and tremendous performance at that rating) this camera is great for low light photography.
Canon has finally improved their AF (which needed improvement for a while) by putting in a new 19 point cross hair Auto Focus and you will find yourself getting you subject in focus a lot more easily now.
There is also the 63 zone, Dual layer metering which uses both the focus information and color to determine the exposure. While "good light" photographers may not find much difference, the results are clearly visible in sub-par lighting conditions.
On top of this Canon also has full HD video recording on these cameras. I must admit that I never thought I would do any HD Video capture on my DSLR but I have found myself recording a few videos here and there :).
couple of things with the HD Video capability.
1. It will record only small bits of movies. The camera heats up and you can record up to 20 mins of Full HD (its more if you reduce the resolution) on this camera (of course your CFII card allowing).
2. There is not auto focus when recording HD Videos, therefore, you need to manual the art of manual focusing if you want to do close up videos or, really the easier way, keep the lens at infinity if you dont need to bring it in any closer.
My only gripe about the camera would be.
1. The built in flash is not enough.. It has never been :) so for serious pictures using flash, get yourself a speedlite to go with it
2. I wish this was a full frame camera and not a APC mount.. (however if you already have EF-S mount lenses you will actually appreciate the fact that this baby will take it all)
All in all.. this is the best camera that a semi-pro can own and be proud of ;)

This camera is amazing!First the quality is top notch. Second the pictures are amazing. Third the auto focus is fast! No more missed photo's.Then I tried the video. I was blown away. This camera is being touted as the independent film makers "Red" substitute. (The Red is a camera that costs upwards of $25,000.00)I am super happy with this purchase[...]

Used it at indoor swim meet with 2.8 70-200 lens. Good shutter speed, ISO very usable at 2000 for web results; NR should be applied for anything above 1600 for print purposes.
Prompt delivery, no problems
