I definitely like the camera, but be prepared to spend some time with the owner manual. Lots of features and takes some getting used to.

We mostly use this camera for taking shots of my son's college and my daughter's varsity soccer matches. It takes excellent action photos.

Great features, nice build but just ok image quality. Good if you need a relatively small package with exceptional zoom range.

Comments about Nikon Nikon COOLPIX P100 Black 10.3 Megapixel Digital Camera:
I am a traditional photographer using film and digital SLR's with top quality prime lenses, but a recent shoulder injury required that I carry no weight for an extended period of time. In order to not be sidelined with my wildlife photography, I purchased the P100. It is fast on start up, quick with image capture even with moving birds, and amazing noise control at higher 1SO settings. The image quality exceeds my expectations, including image quality at maximum zoom. My only complaints are the lack of RAW or TIFF, the limited ability to capture a long string of rapid shoot images and the purple fringing. While I am pointing out these shortcomings, I have to remind myself and the reader that this is a [$] point and shoot, not a $5000 SLR with a prime lens.
