Other than slightly bulky, and short battery life, this is nearly a perfect camera. Something people should beware: 1080i AVCHD original footages may require high end software to do true editing.

This is a great point and shoot camera. Not only does it take great quality photos, but it shoots 1080i High Def video! What I like about this is that I can carry this camera in my pocket and have the option of pictures or video. The stabilization is fantastic. I can easily walk while shooting video and the motion on screen is not very jerky at all.
What I don't like about it is the placement of the stereo mics. The mics are easily covered by my fingers and the mics pick up too much wind noise. The clicks of the zoom can be heard in video too if I move the zoom button too hard.
All in all I love this little camera for it's great picture and HD video quality. I give it 4.5 stars because of the mic placement.

Pictures are sharper than with my last camera.
HiDef video is fantastic and the primary reason for purchase. No longer need a separate video camera.
