    All Miele electric cooktops are designed with an extremely durable Ceran® surface. This smooth, glass-like surface is exceptionally strong and can double as counter space when not in use. Ceran® is designed to resist heat transfer and the electric burners only heat within the white surface rings. Areas outside the rings are insulated from the heat and stay cool to the touch. Miele cooktops come with residual heat indicators as well. These neon lights warn of a surface that's too hot to handle, even after the burner has been turned off
