Performs & Only Needs Water

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell HCM-6012i QuietCare Humidifier:

Machine is advertised as 11 gallon, but from the size of the tanks, I would estimate that it's closer to 5+ gallons, and that if you fill twice daily it has capacity to vaporize 11 gallons of water daily. It performs its function very well. The air humidity has risen from low 30's to close to 50%, and it's very quiet when operated on the lower 2 fan speeds. High is pretty loud.

HCM-6012i - Simple but lacking
By DJLVerified Purchaser from Fort Worth, TX on 1/27/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Settings, Energy Efficient, Lightweight
Cons:
Difficult to Fill
Best Uses:
Living Room
Bottom Line:

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell HCM-6012i QuietCare Humidifier:

Product works as adversied. As with most humidifiers this size, it is a challenge to acquire the desired humidity, but I knew that before I purchased. Running the humidifier at night is noisy unless you use the slowest speed. Filling the humidifier is the biggest dissapointment. It is clumsy and messy. The tanks are inverted, lifting them off from the base causes them to drip water (on my carpet). they then have to be filled using the bath tub facet and this it the biggest draw back. They have to be turned upside down to be filled. The handle is on the top and will not sit flat, so you have to balance the tank by holding it the whole time and then hoist the full tank out from the bottom of your tub. It's a pain.

This is the best whole-house humidifier we've owned. It fills easy, shows the current humidity level, is quiet, and pumps-out a lot of water on the highest setting! We're very pleased.

A nice, whole house humidifier
By MichaelVerified Purchaser from Norman, OK on 1/8/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Settings, Large tanks
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Dry Winter, Everywhere

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell HCM-6012i QuietCare Humidifier:

This is a nice, functional whole house humidifier. The tanks are big enough that I only have to refill them twice a day during the driest/coldest part of the winter, or once a day otherwise. On it's slow setting, it's very quiet. However, it also has a fast mode that -- even though it's pretty loud -- works well if you haven't run the humidifier in a while. I would recommend this unit.

Less filling needed, but akward tanks
By JOY JOY JOYVerified Purchaser from Woodstock Valley, CT on 12/29/2006
Pros:
Adjustable Settings, Energy Efficient
Cons:
Difficult to Fill
Best Uses:
Dry Winter, Living Room

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell HCM-6012i QuietCare Humidifier:

We use this by our wood stove in a very large room. I like the feature where it automatically turns off when humidity level is reached or water is out. Easy to clean, but difficult to fill the water tanks as the tanks do not have a flat surface to place them down while filling. It has been very helpful to moisten the air.

I had been searching for a reliable humidifer that was quiet. The HCM-6012i meet my expectations. Very quiet, relatively easy to fill the water tanks.
