All of you who have complained about the NOISY FAN, have had a BAD INSTALLATION:

Suspended APPLIANCES MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED; if not, you will hear vibrations when the fan operates ... this is true of convection ovens, and wall ovens as well.

Also, if you are venting outside, make sure your installer has used the vent guide, and not just leaned the unit against the wall ... if not, THEN you will hear the fan ... !!!

The fan is a smidgen louder than most ... but most certainly NOT loud enough to be heard on the second floor ...!

How can this exact same model, in WHITE, receive stellar reviews without so much as a mention of loudness?

Installation was not difficult; however, the brackets and bolts did NOT fit into the holes of the previous microwave (this was a replacement for us).

Although Consumer Reports gave good marks to LG microhoods, this one is horrible. Door hinges are so loose that it closes crooked. I wasn't sure it was safe. Sounds similar to tornado siren - it's alarming - and very loud. Can't use it if someone's sleeping b/c it wakes them up when they're upstairs. Haven't tried to use it much to evaluate function b/c it's too loud. Rack is too low to fit most containers under. Placement of Start/Stop buttons is not intuitive, I always hit Stop instead of Start, which clears it. Had service out, guy
said this is normal for LG. Trying to get another brand.
