Comments about Pioneer Pioneer Black AV Receiver:
This replaces a seven-year-old Sony ES series receiver. This Pioneer sounds better! Technology evolves so fast- seven years is an eternity. I use it as a 5.1 Home Theater and stereo. The new HDMI cables allow for full HD, which is a huge step up from my old setup. I also run an optical cable from my iMac to the receiver via a Xitel Pro-Hi-Fi link so I can play my entire music library in digital. Eventually I suppose I'll stream wirelessly, but I don't have that set-up yet. Until I do, this will more than suffice.
I ordered this in the hopes I'd get it in time for the Superbowl. Initially, I received a message saying it was backordered. It looked iffy, but when I called to change my order to a Yamaha, the Pioneer had just gotten in and had shipped out already. I got it in plenty of time and am very happy with the product. The receiver came double-boxed- arrived in perfect condition. The service was excellent.
