Comments about Sony Sony ES 7.1 Channel Surround Sound Black AV Receiver:

I upgraded to this receiver after owning a previous Sony ES product. There customer support is very good, though the hold times can be a bit long sometimes. This receiver was out of stock for some time on the sonystyle.com website. After talking with the customer support staff they said that Sony had plenty but they were not shipping them for some unknown reason. This could be to fix the HDMI syncing issues that are in the other reviews that are posted. I have a Dish Network HD receiver hooked and a Sony DVD player hooked up. No issues with either.Very simple GUI that you can do everything on. I am using the full 7.1 audio features as well as sending audio to an additional amp that powers the speakers throughout the house. Once out of the box, it took me less then 30 minutes to connect the wires, rename the HDMI connections to something that I could understand as well as running the speaker calibration program.
