I love the auto setup and the Graphic User Interface. Manual is well written. Remote took care of all my devices (two DVR's, VCR, TV, and DVD), but key placement on the remote could be improved for DVR functions.
The auto equilization worked really well in my large Great Room with lots of glass and wooden beamed ceilings, and flattened out the reverberations I was getting.
I replaced a Pioneer Elite VSX 84TXSi with this model because there was a firmware recall and little or no support to get it installed. Upconversion to 1080i works great with HDMI output.
This is my FIFTH A/V receiver upgrade (in seven years) from two Denons to two Pioneer Elites to Yamaha, and I now think I have a keeper!
Comments about Yamaha Yamaha Black Network Home Theater Receiver:
I needed to replace another Yamaha receiver that became insufficient (not enough inputs) and wanted to use it to switch all audio and video sources and send all video out to HDTV via HDMI. It has functioned perfectly and does exactly what I wanted it to. On top of that, the sound is fantastic, perhaps a little brighter (and more accurate) than my prior RX, setup is relatively easy, especially with the YPAO automatic setup and the GUI. My only wish would be to be able to display the OSD on HD sources, which you can't. This isn't to say that you can't use the GUI (you can), but that OSD of things like volume only appears on SD content. Unfortunate because, for example, it is difficult to make out the volume level in db's from the couch. Still, it's a fantastic piece of equipment and I would definitely buy it again.

Comments about Yamaha Yamaha Black Network Home Theater Receiver:
I've been a Yamaha owner for over twenty years from the R-9 to the RX-V990, Rx-v1300 and finally the ultimate performer for any entertainment system, the RX-V2700. This baby does it all, and lacks nothing in the way of features. I particularly like the convenience afforded by the dedicated iPod connection.
