I have had this system for about 4 yearsThe ProsVERY Good sound, very accarate sounding, good bass response, seemingly crystal clear sound, problem free, reliable, quality made, very loud capability,..it can blow your ears out..When I lived in an apartment I used to get complaints from people around me including upstairs that their windows or walls were shaking/vibrating because of the bass. Luckily, the bass on the subwoofer can be chosen by way of a knob in the back of the subwoofer for night time listening. I really have had no problems with this system. AFter about 4 years I am starting to experience problem with the wiring of the sopeakers so some of my speakers are not operational at the moment. Then again, I havent taken any time to narrow down exactly why because I have been busy. I imagine if I took some time I could get that fixed within an hour or two if I were to go back to [...] where I originally bought it for 299.00 at the time and explained what is going on. Other than that it sounds new still--this is a great system- although if you want to listen to AM/FM , you wil want to purchase an additional home stereo I would purchase an additional Am/FM stereo or high powered boom box because the signal it gets from Am/FM is weak. It is more for watching Movies and also works so that you can watch cable TV in surround sound as well. I have become spoiled with this ability watching CNN, for example, in surround sound. I absolutely reccomend this to someone to buy. it Sounds wonderful and is quality built and reliable. It is difficult to set up though if you are a beginner

I always wanted a Yamaha syatem and now I have one and I'm happy, made the right choice.
This system is all you need. It's got power,looked good and great for the price.
