I bought this battery to use as a back-up. It's the same as the OEM battery that came with my D90, so it works just as well. When you're out shooting, you always want to have a back-up just in case your primary battery dies. I find that keeping an extra battery or two saves a lot more weight and bulk compared to using a "battery grip". Also, even though people say that Li-Ion batteries do not have a memory effect, Li-Ion batteries will last longer if you allow them to go through complete charge cycles (deplete and then fully charge). By having an extra battery, I can fully deplete the first battery and then drop-in the back-up; therefore, each battery will always go through a full charge cycle.

I have two of these batteries and both perform beyond my expectations. They charge quickly and hold a charge for longer than any battery I have ever used. I highly recommend this battery if you are looking for one that holds a charge for a very long time and won't let you down while on a shoot.

This appears to be identical to the power supply that ships with the Nikon D90, hence, it is just what I was interested in. It's curious that the item description says 'black finish' though, since it is gray.

This is a great addition to my Nikon D90. I wouldn't leave the country without it! I plan on taking lots of pictures for my next book and wouldn't be caught dead without a spare. This fits the need perfectly. It charges quickly and lasts a fairly long time. Great job!
