I wanted something that could handle limes. I hate it when you make a cocktail and the limes won't go down. So, they referred me to this one. And it works great. Installation flawless and all and all i love it.

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

The KitchenAid KCDI250 disposal is great - powerful, quiet, and well built! Installation was a challenge, partly due to its weight and partly due to my limited DIY capabilities. Had to use my car (scissor) jack to get it positioned and secured correctly. Other than that, installation went smoothly. I would recommend it highly - it is truly a mini-beast of a disposal.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was very prompt (as expected) and ABT was great about keeping me informed of progress updates to include ground tracking across country. Will definitely use them again and will tell others to do the same - Thanks!!

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Just installed this Kitchen Aid KCDI250 disposal in just over an hour. It was a snap (especially compared to getting the old one out which someone apparently needed to hard glue to several other pieces?). The product is quiet and powerful. Look forward to its durability as well.

Service & Delivery comments:

Excellent online confirmations and updates for shipping. Product arrived super fast and well packed. Follow up for feedback also great.

Great Disposal!
By C.C.Verified Purchaser from Salida, Colorado on 9/17/2007
Pros:

Cons:
Noisy
Best Uses:
Small Kitchens
Describe Yourself:
I had it installed
Bottom Line:

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Great monster of a disposal...the power is obvious - with the proper care (i.e. letting the water run a bit after shutting it off to remove excess debris in the blades) it should run strong for many years. A bit noisy - but it's not something that has to run for long, so I don't mind. Would rather have the noise than a weaker unit.

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Needs to come with a longer drain outlet pipe.
Found one to work (drain pipe) at local hardware store.
Confusing directions as to where to place fiber washer on sink trap. Use it as a back up ring under the lower rubber gasket.

Much more than a kitchen utensil
By GunslingerVerified Purchaser from Seattle, Washington on 1/31/2007
Pros:
Durable, Powerful, Quiet
Best Uses:
Utilized as a macerator
Bottom Line:

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

I am using my disposal as a macerator on my fishing vessel....it out performs any Marine macerator I have used to date....can withstand the vigorous use it was meant to endure, when all else fails you can go back to using the Sears and Roebuck catolog again for TP without worry of it clogging...I tested up to 5 paper towels at one time....more than once, and it performed like a hungry lion each time....I was impressed to say the least...I give it a 2 thumbs up! If anyone is familiar with the general septic plumbing situation on a boat, then, they will appreciate what I am talking about.

Quiet, powerful, easy installatino
By Mark from Music CityVerified Purchaser from Nashville, TN on 11/10/2006
Pros:
Powerful, Quiet
Best Uses:
Large Kitchens, Small Kitchens

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

We replaced the DOA Insinkerator with this KItchenaid and couldn't be happier. Time will tell if it proves to be durable, but it is quiet, smooth and powerful. Installation was a relative breeze, thanks to the clear instructions and the fact that the quick-lock mount was compatible with the ring from the old ISE. We did have to rework some of the PVC plumbing under the sink, but that had more to do with improper installation of the previous unit than anything else. Nothing that a weekend handyman couldn't handle with readily available materials from the local big box home improvement store.

We were attracted by the stainless steel components, the advertised quiet, the large capacity grind chamber, and the Kitchenaid name (yes, I know that they are made by ISE but as near as I can tell, it is roughtly equivalent to their premium line).

Great machine
By JoeVerified Purchaser from Atlanta, GA on 9/26/2006
Pros:
Durable, Powerful, Quiet
Best Uses:
Small Kitchens

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

I bought this to replace an (much) older version of the same unit. the original lasted 15-20 years! this one appears quieter. it only lacks the "Wham Jammer" automatic jam breaker upper; this has a manual one instead. but that was rarely a problem anyway. This is the best.

A Good Choice
By Steve the PoetVerified Purchaser from McLean, VA on 9/26/2006
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Clean, Powerful, Quiet
Best Uses:
Large Kitchens, Small Kitchens

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

A better choice than the 1/2 HP model for a few extra $. I like the feature that it reverses direction each time you use it. Easy to install. Similar Insinkerator at Home Depot for same $, but no reversal. Both made by same factory, I heard.

Everyting I needed for good price
By DanVerified Purchaser from Kingsport, TN on 9/21/2006
Pros:
Durable, Powerful

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Don't know that much about what else is available on the market, but I replaced basically the same model KitchenAid garbage disposal that had worked with no problems for 15-20 years. I installed this unit myself; it took some time, but no problem. Excellant price [...] considering what equivalent products cost. Maybe a little noisy compared to competitors that advertise quiet; but it only runs when being used, so noise is not that big of a deal, particularly if you are paying $[...] for an ultra-quite disposal.

So far, so good
By Do-It-YourselferVerified Purchaser from Northern VA on 9/18/2006
Pros:
Quiet

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

The KCDI250 was easy to install; it used a rubber sink flange seal rather than the usual putty. It seems slightly quieter than the Insinkerator that it replaced. My problems with that other brand included leaks through the motor shaft seal after 3 or so years in more than one unit; it's too early to tell how the KitchenAid will hold up in that respect.

Works like a champ.
By DennisVerified Purchaser from Elmhurst, IL on 9/8/2006
Pros:
Powerful, Quiet

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Works great. Chews up whatever I throw at it.

Only slight issue is that it was a little heavy to install by myself.

I'm completely satisfied now that it's in, though.

Works Great!
By Marcia W.Verified Purchaser from Willowbrook, IL on 7/24/2006
Pros:
Durable, Have professional install, Powerful, Quiet
Best Uses:
Large Kitchens, Small Kitchens

Comments about KitchenAid KitchenAid KCDI250:

Works quieter when stopper is installed, especially in a Stainless Steel sink. Unless you lift weights, unit weighs 22 lbs. and difficult to install yourself. Fantastic unit!
