This product lives up to it's great rating. I bought one for my brother-in-law and ended up buying one for myself too.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
It saves time and I don't have to use lighter fluid, which people often taste in their food when using 'match-lite' or heating charcoal the traditional way.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
It really doesn't get any easier than this. It works every time, and there's no need to watch it or baby it. I don't have to wonder if it's going to blow out or not like some of the other chimneys I've used in the past. This is as good and as easy as it gets for starting charcoal.
I put a "doughnut" of newspaper at the bottom, pour the charcoal in, light the newspaper and go back inside. Just don't leave it sitting on concrete. I set it on my outdoor fireplace.

[...] Best price on the internet and no more charcoal lighter smell in the food, or start up times to burn it off.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
I have used a number of different charcoal starters this is the best.

Works every time with two sheets of newspaper.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
I got tired of buying and spewing lighter fluid on my charcoal only for it to take up to 25 minutes for the charcoal to be ready...sometimes.
With the Weber chimney the briquettes are ready in 10 minutes. Now the only problem I have it how to use up the rest of my lighter fluid.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
Two pieces of newspaper - one match - 15 minutes later the grill is ready to go. No need for starter fluid or petroleum tasting food.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
Put some paper in, put the coals in, light and wait. Easy and the coals hit the grill at a nice high temp. Sometimes I needed to add some more paper, so now I just use six sheets from the start instead of the recommended four and it goes great.
The only problems are that the sides tend to get metal stress discolorations from the heat, which I don't really care about if they are just cosmetic, and the fact that the thing cools slowly after you dump the coals out. So, I wind up putting on top of a brick wall for about 15-30 minutes while I'm grilling and before I can put it away.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
I have no need for lighter fluid any more. The coals are ready faster and it holds plenty. It even worked using all old coals.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
Works like a charm. Three sheets of newspaper and it lights up the charcoal within 10 minutes. I absolutely swear by this product. Since I just purchased, not sure how long it will last, but I am enjoying it.

This Chimney improved our Berbecue Time, making poweful charcol is easier and faster!
We found another chimney at some store in the city, but it had not any quality value same as Weber genuine inspite of same price.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
I was skeptical about 2 newspapers being all it takes to get the coals going but it really works. They're ready to cook in 15-20 minutes. One caution, do not set this on top of your cooking grate when lighting it because the intense heat will cause the grill to warp a little. I've found this out after using it only 4 times. Otherwise this is a great way to get away from using charcoal lighter fluid or electric starters.

Easy to use and gets the charcoal ready fast. This Weber tool has heavy construction and will last a long time.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
use 2 sheets of newspaper, I load it upside down, light it, turn it right side up and fill with charcoal briquets (quickly). The coals are red out in 10-15 minutes (Kingsford works best, the cheap charcoal is a waste of your time). You might need a glove or rag if it gets to hot as you go to dump it, and a safe place for it to sit and cool off. Forget the lighter fluid. I had 1 problem. After about 100 fire starts, the spot welds give way. I think I can repair it with a stainless steel bolt and nut. No big deal! I recommend this one. There was an older model called Firebug where the bottom dropped out when you picked it up. It was even better, but I can't find it anymore.

I use a propane burner from a turkey frier to light the coals and it takes about 1 minute to light the coals. Saves time and you don't have to use any lighter fluid.

Since I bought this product I become addicted to doing barbecue!
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
....spent wondering if those "charcoal starters" actually worked. my doubts grew as i read the instructions, which said to wad up two sheets of newspaper to use in the chimney. how are two pieces of newspaper going to light all this charcoal with no starter fluid?
EXTREMELY WELL, that's how. so well that it was hot enough to make the chimney glow a bright orange-red in 10 minutes or so!?!?!?!?!! NICE not to have to worry about whether you have fluid or not or deal with the odor, taste, mess!
it does put off quite a bit of smoke when you first light it, but it soon disappears.
the only thing i don't like is that extra "helper" handle that swings up and down. i don't use it and gets in the way, constantly swinging. i'm going to see if it can be removed.

Now we have charcoal grilling without the wait. We were amazed at how quickly the charcoal was ready to grill. Great product.
Comments about Weber Weber Chimney Charcoal BBQ Grill Starter:
This is just an amazing charcoal starter. The idea is simple, and the chimney stove itself was well made, somewhere in Taiwan, according to the packaging. As a mechanical engineer - I'm very aware of good and bad products. This is a good one.
The aluminized steel helps prevent rusting, and extends the useful life of the chimney starter. The solid rivets hold the body and handles together quite firmly. The idea for this produce is simple - you don't want to use flammable liquid charcoal starters (toxic, bad for environment, fumes, dangerous, makes food taste funny, etc.), so how can you get your charcoal started and ready for use?
The answer is simple - just crumple up a couple of sheets of newspaper, place them in the bottom of the chimney, put your charcoal briquets or chunks in the chimney, put the entire chimney stove on your BBQ and light the paper with a match. Within moments, the fire will start, and the charcoal with ignite, thanks to the well designed grate and lots of vents... within a few minutes, the charcoal will be ready to put into the BBQ, and you can start cooking.
I can't believe I ever did it the old way with special lighting fluid, etc. This is a faster, better and cheaper way to get your charcoal started, and the cost is very reasonable. If you buy one of these chimney starters, it will pay for itself by the 4th or 5th time that you use it - and your charcoal starting will be free from that time forward.
It should last a long time - but I'm only expecting it to last for a couple of grilling seasons - which should be no problem, as the sheet metal is quite rugged. I'm very pleased with this product, and expect to get lots of use from it.
CAUTION - Be careful to use a protective mitt to handle the wire loop at the top of the chimney when you pour out the hot charcoal - as it is made of metal and does not have a protective handle like the main plastic handle on the chimney starter.
All in all - great function, nice visual design, and a solid value. Recommended.

Works better than expected. I was skeptical that only two sheets of newspaper would get things going but it truly does. Coals are ready a lot quicker as well. I did not find heat transfer to the handle to be an issue. A great value for the charcoal purist.

A must have for charcoal users. Gets the coals hot and quick. Especially nice if using wood charcoal, just put some newspaper in the bottom, light it, and in about 20 minutes you are ready to cook. And best of all, it's a WEBER!!
