The Kenwood remote in my 10 year old Supra boat went out, and the dash had the oval shape for the remote molded into it. I bought this remote hoping it would fit the same spot in the dash and work with my 10 year old stereo. It did! Even better, this one has a MUTE button which the old one didn't, and even better than that, the MUTE button actually ATTenuates the volume rather than muting. This is great for boats that are loud when you are driving. When you take off, you turn off the ATTenuate function to get full volume. When you stop, you press MUTE and the volume reduces to a comfortable level without the loud engine noise.

Easy to buy on line, installation was tough but wired from the back of my boat to the dash.

This is a waterproof wired remote control for Kenwood receivers with the accessory wire for steering wheel remote controls. However, the wiring is only about 9 inches long!
You will need to make you own waterproof extension cable for using in marine applications. Once modified, the remote works excellent where it is cumbersome with the extension cable that I created. Kenwood does not offer an extension cable for this product.
