Display is very good at a distance, but up close it would be easier to read smaller numbers. Bigger is not better in this case!

Use in bedroom for main alarm clock, I like the big numbers and big snooze bar. It has only a 6 minute snooze, compared to 9 minutes on my previous alarm, still not sure if I like that. I love that it has an external antenna wire so you can get best reception.

Works just as advertised - brightness of display can be adjusted to personal preference. It does come with two alarms, but be aware - one alarm/time is always "radio" and the other is always "buzzer". The sound cannot be selected for each alarm/time (i.e. cannot have two radio alarms or two buzzer alarms). That works fine for us, but was not what we expected.

I use the clock in the bedroom. I especially like that you don't have to set the alarm everyday. "Just set it and forget it." LOL
I also like the sleeper button. I put it on for one hour when I go to bed and the music puts me to sleep. Just great and easy to set. A real great feature is that you can have the numbers bright or on dimmer. Just love it.

I bought this model because it had the largest display I could find in a clock radio made by a reputable manufacturer--it is quite easy to read across the room, which is what I wanted most. It is also easy to set up and operate.

There are no station presets with this radio, which makes station selection tedious, using a dial tuner. But if you prefer one station most of the time, as I do, you will like the timer features well enough to justify the purchase. Looks good, and sounds surprisingly good as well considering how compact it is.

As a clock, you couldn't ask for much more: battery backup, large-figured time display with adjustable brightness, easy to set (upward & downward), radio and tone alarms are settable to different times, settings lock so that you won't change them accidentally, elegant laid-back styling, modest footprint, adjustable sleep timer.

However, its Operating Instructions sheet, Sony #2-583-841-21(1), states the following: "Battery Life: Approx. 9 hours (for clock and alarm backup) using Sony 0069 (6F22) battery." It also says, "After a power interruption, the displayed time may not be always correct (It may gain or lose about 10 minutes per hour)." And it says, "Knowing When to Replace the Battery: To check the battery power, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and plug it in again after a few minutes. If the displayed time is incorrect, replace the battery with a new one." All of that leaves me wondering: if the line power fails overnight, what are my chances of being awakened on time? Or at all?

The AM/FM radio performance is disappointing, even allowing for the necessarily small speaker. The dial is hard to see and hard to adjust. Signal sensitivity, frequency selectivity, adjacent station rejection, and noise rejection are all less than adequate.

Would I buy it again? Probably. But I would have eagerly paid twice as much for the same clock with a better radio and a battery backup that I could count on.

This was the only clock radio we could find that appeared to feature an alarm mode of radio+buzzer. Unfortunately, the radio+buzzer mode that it has, is implemented as two separate alarms. We wanted one alarm that started as buzzer and radio going off together and then leave radio on after turning off the buzzer. But after a few weeks of using the clock we have gotten used to its simple controls. It is easy to turn on the radio after turning off the buzzer. We also love the large display. Great for the nearsighted, like us.

I was looking for a dual alarm clock with larger display that did not light up the whole bedroom at night. This is the alram clock. Can adjust the brighness way down low; can see see it at night without lighting up the whole room. Good size display for us "baby boomers".

Very nice alarm clock. A little bulky for travel but makes a nice addition to your office or bedroom. The LED brighntess is adjustable and the radio is defenitely a plus. Waking up to a radio on weekends, slowly is very nice.

I would recommed this product, to anyone thats looking for a nice alarm clock and its great value for money.

We were looking for something that had an adjustable display brightness, because if you have your clock radion on your nightstand by your head, most can be too bright to sleep easily. This not only has sliding adjustability (as opposed to two or three brightness presets), but it has a large vertical display, which you can set across the room and still see easily. So if you have trouble getting up and want to actually have to get out of bed to hit the snooze or turn off, you can still easily see the display.Whether you've owned a clock radio before or not, the controls and buttons are pretty intuitive, so operating is not a problem. Buttons are nicely sized and placed, so there is not a problem hitting buttons by accident. Initially, I think most people start playing witht the tuner to see if the sound is any good or if the tuner can pull in stations without easily losing them. This clock radio stood out in this department and was among the strongest of the 10 or so models on display. Overall a great value at around $[...] with enough features to fit a variety of needs and spaces.

Impressive little machine. I returned a $50 alarm clock/cd player that received only 1 radio station. This thing receives 15 radio stations. I have high standards and I highly recommend the ICFC492 by Sony.

The famous saying, you get what you paid for. I wanted this clock for my 7 yrs. old son's room. large lcd and adjustable. Sound quality is okay for the price, but the reception is not that clear. I would probably purchase it again for the same price.

It's easy to set up and has a large display on the time. My gripe is the dual alarm system -- one alarm lets you wake up to radio and the other to the buzzer. Who wants to wake up to an annoying buzzer? But that's what this product forces you to do if you want dual alarms.

My major complaint is that the functions are difficult to operate--my enemy is the snooze button. Everytime you hit it the thing ads another minute to something. I have to admit that I haven't had many alarm clocks, but this is the first that I've run across with a function like this. Otherwise the thing is great for the price. My favorite function is the adjustable brightness display. I can't sleep in a bright room and this really helps.

This is a quality product, as you would expect from Sony. I bought it for the dimmer control so the display would not be too bright at night - this works well. Even at the highest setting, however, the display cannot be read in bright ambient light. The radio is nothing exceptional, but it doesn't matter to me since I will not use it.

My vision isn't too bad, but this is the ideal clock when you check the time in the middle of the night with groggy, blurry and sleepy eyes. No more squinting or having to stare and focus your eyes to see what time it is. One glance is all it will take.

My new Sony clock radio sits high up on a dresser sbout 4 feet from the foot of my bed, and I have absolutely no trouble seeing the time.

Great little AM/FM radio with snooze, wake to music/buzzer, 9V battery back-up, and up to 60 min. sleep button so you can listen to music while you drift off to sleep.

Only thing lacking is a 2nd alarm. Would be nice to have 2 alarm settings for weekday and weekend use. However, setting the time is very easy and fast, so it's a very minor nitpick.

I did a lot of research on alarm clocks with large LED's, and I'm very satisfied that I purchased two of these. One for me and one for my wife.
