We had an older unit with a cassette player for many years. This unit replaces the old one. It is a great little unit, good speakers, easy to install, and even where I live in a rural area, it picks up all my favorite FM stations.

The GOOD things about this radio:

Installation was easy. (At least my carpenter/husband made it look that way!)

It does not rob me of limited counter space.

Here is the one thing that DISAPPOINTS me about this radio:

The AM reception is pretty terrible. I can only get AM radio about once out of every 5 times I try. There is no antenna, and since it is bolted to the bottom of my cabinet, I can't move it around; so it either picks up AM or it doesn't! I am bummed that I can't listen to AM radio when I'd like, so if that is a big deal to you, you probably don't want this radio.

I use this every time I am working in the kitchen. I love this product. The Sony always has a great sound. Before ordering this, I did alot of reading about undercounter players and I ordered this one. I was not let down, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good undercounter system.

We use it sometimes for local news. We replaced the same type of unit that did not have a CD player. Reception did not improve from the GE unit we replaced, but the CD payer sounds great.

I use this product every day to listen to music. I think it is an attractive looking product. It is more than adequate for a player. I can't think of anything at this time that is not great about it. I haven't really used the radio option at this time.

Use in kitchen. perfect for a smaller area. Under cabinet design takes up little space. Easy and quick to install, about 15-20 minutes. Sound cannot compete with stereo systems but is surprisingly rich. Up front easy to understand controls except for the big knob on the side for volume. Mega bass. Plays one CD at a time but has a loop function for continuous play. The antenna is internal but if you are in or near town you will get good reception. Nice unit.

Wonderful home use. We use it everyday, and it is easy enought that our two year old helps. Do wish it came in black, but I might have been looking wrong and didn't see the choice. Overall, I am very pleased with the sound and the installation. Great for the price, made a great gift for the wife. Could use an mp3 adapter or plug, but that is just me.

Most under-the-counter products do not have the reception this one does. Very strong. Rich sound, even without the bass enhancement. Instillation was very clear and was pefectly achieved. Size allowed us numerous location choices. Being able to store the extra cord over the rear of the radio made the instillation very professional. Great value at the same price of many lesser products.

Works great for my wife (and myself) in kitchen and for our family while we eat. It gets great reception, much better than the bulky jambox we had sitting on the kitchen counter previously. It's also great having the preset stations available.

I bought this radio/CD player for my wife as an early Christmas present. She spends entire days leading up to the holidays in our kitchen baking, and I thought that this would be a nice addition to the kitchen this year.

I must say, I was a bit skeptical about the sound quality since I was buying it without hearing it first, but I am very glad that I gave it a shot. This little radio really cranks when you want it to (you can hear it anywhere on our first floor when it is turned up, and our first floor is roughly 2000 square feet), but obviously only puts out a moderate amount of bass. No one can expect a radio with two 2 1/2 inch speakers to sound like a subwoofer, but it is quite capable given its size.

I was also very impressed by its radio reception, especially since it has no external antenna (the power cord acts as the antenna). We live in a rural area, and most of the radios that we own will only pick up 3 to 5 FM stations on a consistent basis. This radio picks up at least 10 stations and the reception on all is very clear.

Overall, it is well worth the price paid, and I would recommend it to anyone that wants an out-of-the-way radio in their kitchen or shop. It is also very easy to install - you just mark four holes inside the cabinet with the provide template, then drill out the holes and run screws through to the radio. It probably took less than 20 minutes to install, including clean up.

Delivery of this item was fantastic. After an easy installation, it took about one minute to get the FM going. Both CDs and FM sound clear and rich. This is a winner.

I have no problems with this radio. It was at the right price and I don't regret buying it one bit.

I have serious issues with Sony (Esp with the virus like software on their CDs) but this radio sounds fine, gets in all the stations I want (I live in a basement), and fits great underneath my kitchen cabinet. What more do you really want?

This unit looks great mounted under the cabinets. Wish it came in black as well as white. Sound quality is severely lacking. Even with "mega bass" on, it still sounds very "tinny." Some of my CDs are just plain painful to listen to in this unit.

Would recommend this to anyone who has limited space in the kitchen but needs to hear some tunes at dinner time (or any other time), "bass" setting makes a little bit of a difference, easy to mount and program. Would suggest trying to keep the power cord extended and mounted high for better FM reception (have mine hidden on top of the refrigerator, seems to help with the signal).

The radio and CD player work fine. I was surprised at the good reception I received with the radio. I'm sure it depends on where it is installed and the direction, but it worked great for me.

The most difficulty I had was lining up the holes to attach the unit under the cabinet. I needed to enlarge the holes to make the unit easier to attach. Also, the screws should be flat heads so they can be counter sunk. The screws that came with the unit are round heads that sit slightly on top of the shelf. I am afraid we might break something if we hit the top of a screw. We'll have to see how that works out. Over all, we are pleased with the unit.

Overall the product functions very well with regards to playing CD's and the sound quality is very good considering the size of the speakers. The only negative is regarding the FM reception from med to low powered stations. High power FM stations near by tend to feed into these weak stations causing dual reception on certain frequencies. I contacted Sony and they said they do not warrant problems with reception. I figured a digital receiver should not have problems with frequency seperation like older style analog receiver. But other than the poor FM reception issue overall a nice system.

Performs well. Easy install with provided template.

Good quality and features. Power cord serves as the antenna, and unless it's draped across the front of the cabinet one of wife's favorite stations is weak. But the station is about 60 miles away so guess that's somewhat to be expected.
