It has an atomic clock to make certain I get up on time. The dock charges either the Ipod or Iphone.

I use this sound station in my apartment. I like that it's easy, has a remote control, and fits my iPod snuggly. There are only two things I don't care for: the sound quality AND the light. I had an iHome before and the sound quality was better on that devise. This has no bass. It's not the worst but don't expect clean, precise sound. The background clock light never turns off (it didn't on the iHome either). You can only dim the light. I don't understand this concept. Ah well...not a bad purchase but wouldn't do it again.

i bought this for my 14 y?o daughter and she actually set it up. the design is great because the iphone is not sitting on top (like most other units) and exposed to getting whacked when the alarm goes off. [...]
