Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a "transistor radio" in the 21st century? I purchased one for personal travel and one for my mother to use when her electricity goes out during storms or tornado warnings, so she can listen to weather reports -- from the basement!!!!

Love my Sony pocket radio. I got 10 radios for Christmas gifts. Keeping 4 radios for myself. Had wife sew velco inside my shirt pocket & on back of the radio keeps me from dropping out of my pockets. Receiption is killer due to the long antenna COOL Dudes! Enjoy.

I gave it to my business partner/tool builder as a gift. I work far away from his work area but can hear the music. Last week the weather was bad and worried about the stormy weather. We both listened in for news and weather. He takes it away when he is not at work. I need one, too. It is that good!

Best little radio at best price I have purchased since a little Panasonic product I bought in the '70's. I cannot recommend this product any higher. Its sound quality, reception, and price are amazing! I listen to it on my pillow all night long so my husband is not disturbed. I have done this for 30 years, so I am quite the picky person when it comes to pocket radios.

Good basic radio. Easy to slip under the pillow before you go to sleep so your spouse can't hear! The stations all tune in nicely and the antenna works well.

This is a good, small radio. I purchased it with the hopes of picking up talk radio in my office, but the poor reception combined with the fact that the tuning dial is so small that the slightest bump of the tuning knob isn't accurate enough to tune in AM.
It's great for AM/FM outdoors, and not bad for FM indoors.

I use this radio mainly when I wake up in the middle of the night and want to listen to talk radio. It works great except when I first turn it on with an earphone. It comes on too loudly but other than that, it a great little radio. I like the option of pulling out the earphone so my husband can hear a topic.

I work in multiple homes per day and was tired of missing important AM talk radio when I was outside my work vehicle. I bought this so I could listen all day while I work and I also am now using it while I cook, in the bathroom while I shower, in the basement while I work on my vegetable garden seedlings, etc.I carry the radio in my winter jacket inside pocket and it is very easy to carry from room to room while I am at home. The batteries last a long time and I do not doubt the listen 40~ hour rating. This was a sweet investment for [...]I would buy this radio again, it is small, simple, attractive, good reception, good battery life. I cannot comment on the durability because I haven't dropped it but it has ridden in my coat bouncing around and in a steamy bathroom etc.The last plus to this radio is that it makes a great bail out bag radio for any end of the world scenarios you may experience. The battery size of 2x AA is very common and nice to sync with other devices (AA flashlights and head lamps etc).Good luck, remember that radio is fun to listen to!

This is a good product. It would have been so simple to design the case to give the radio some stability when it's stood up. Unfortunately that wasn't done, and it falls over at any imperfection in the surface or at the slightest touch.

I use the radio with an ear speaker at night when I have trouble falling asleep. I keep the volume very low. As I turn the volume control the sound comes on abruptly, making it nearly impossible to tune it low without a burst of noise. The tuner and reception is much better than my old Sony that did not have an internal speaker or attached antenna. It is bulkier and heavier than the old one, but that is not a negative for the uses I make of it.

It's getting harder and harder to find a small portable AM radio with good performance! This one has very broad selectivity and a high level of background "grunge" (noise) that affects all but the strongest AM stations. The FM section is satisfactory. Overall, nowhere near as good as predecessor ICF-S14. NOT good for DX'ing, in my opinion!

I wanted a radio to listen to AM mostly inside the building where I work at night. Other radios I tried would not pick up any of the stations I wanted to listen to. This one does a great job picking them up clearly. The tuning led helps too. It also does a good job with FM. FM Stations close together on the dial can be a little difficult to lock into. The built in speaker is clear.
