Unit was initially very easy to set-up, and easy to use. Noticed substandard picture quality on most DVDs. Older ONKYO 6-Disc Changer performed much better than this new one. Upgraded because of HDMI interface.Unit performed inconsitently, unable to read some DVDs, then a week ago it froze and stopped responding to any input from either the remote or front panel. Would'nt even power off[...]

This is a great multi-disc player for well under $200. Functions great with my Onkyo receiver's remote. I bought it as a CD changer that just happens to play DVDs. I am running through HDMI to a Pioneer 50". Picture quality with some discs rivals my Blu-Ray player. If you need 1.3a HDMI for 6/7 channel, you'll have to spend another hundred bucks for the new Denon.

Perfect DVD player for my Onkyo (HT-R640) 5.1 sound system , or for that matter any sound system. The upconversion shows near HD quality DVD's. The player is also great for CD's and DVD-CD's(audio only).I could not be happier.

I bought this Onkyo this past Saturday. I have it connected to the Onkyo 674 receiver and a Panasonic TH-42PX600U plasma. I used HDMI cables to connect the DVD to the Receiver and from the receiver to the TV. The upconversion works great. The picture looked much better when I watched Saving Private Ryan. The setup was extremely easy and the player is easy to use.

Onkyo is a great brand, and this is a good player for under $[...]. It plays all audio formats in addition to DVD with a changer, which is what I was looking for. The only bad thing is that the tray takes awhile to change to a different disc after pressing the pertininet button, and the buttons themselves are hard to reach when it is open.

I received this DVD Player a little more then 3 weeks ago. It was easy to set up straight out of the box and came with all the cables I needed. I don't have a high definition television at this point, so I can't comment on that performance. Mainly got it to use as a cd changer and for the movies we do watch. It works great. It has read every single type of disc I have tried to play on it and has had no problems. Also some other reviewers complained that it was loud when changing between discs and that hasn't been the case for me. I think that the noise when changing discs is well within the acceptable range. It is also very easy to use. My wife has used it everyday since we have had it to listen to music and has had no problems. It also works very well in conjunction my Onkyo 604 receiver. The RI interface works great. Anybody looking for a great dvd changer at a wonderful price this is the one for you. I read tons of reviews and in many forums before purchasing and I am glad I decided on this one. [...] I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Onkyo makes quality products and this is the proof! Not too many 6 disc changers out there. This one I bought replaced an older version and is much easier to use.

I had an older 6-disc Onkyo CD player that didn't fit in my new entertainment unit and a single disc sony DVD player that was not progressive scan. This unit solved both problems. Onkyo has moved all their discs closer together in the platter so now the unit is the same size as most 5 disc changers and will easily fit anywhere standard components fit (the older design was nearly 3/4" wider). So far the performance has been great. My setup isn't Audio or Videophile quality, but it is respectable, and while this unit may give up some performance to higher end single disc players in either format, the quality loss is negligable for the amount of features this player packs into a single package for the same price.I have found a few Cons to this player, none of which would have kept me from purchasing it. One is that when the tray is open it restricts access to most of the buttons which are located beneath the tray. The remote has limited off axis range (which may be a function of it's placement in the cabinet, but regardless it is more limited than the unit it replaced) and that the remote is not as well designed as some (namely Sony).Overall it has been everything I expected and I am happy with the purchase. I bought this to replace a CD player multi disc and a DVD player. It does all I expected it to do. Was able to read all types of DVDs and CDs I created on PC.
I am using it with ONKYO AV reciever and it starts up fine using the link system. My TV does not have a progressive input capability or HDMI interface. I had to turn the HDMI "off" to get a readable picture. Needed to feed the picture in thru a composite cable to see way thru this process. I do not know why anyone would buy the CD player since this unit does both the CD player AND DVD player functions!
