This is a good quality, single disc DVD player. It is very compact and attractive. The simple remote control is user-friendly. It doesn't take technical knowledge to quickly figure out the buttons. For this one single reason, I am very happy with this DVD player. Hookup was easy and the quality of the picture is better than many of my cable channel stations!

We were looking for a good quality, single disc DVD player and reviewed comparable Panasonic, Toshiba, and Sony products. We chose the Panasonic because of its compact, attractive design and its simple remote control, which just has functions for the DVD player. Remote controls for Sony and Toshiba were capable of being programmed to operate the bot the DVD player and the connected television, and thus were larger and more complex with numerous more buttons. For this one single reason, we are very happy with our choice.

I bought this DVD player 3 weeks ago. Never had any disc compatibility problem. I recorded some TV shows and burned DVD (-R and +RW) through my computer. It plays beautifully on this little DVD player. As a matter of fact, it plays everything I throw at it with no problem. I have an EDTV and do not need the up-convert. With progressive scan, the picture is great. The outside appearance looks a kind of cheap and unattractive though. But definitely worth the money.
