When starting up a disc to play, player hangs up and only way to continue is to stop, open and close disc tray, and start over. Always works on second try. Very annoying. If paused for any length of time, when restarting audio and video are out of sync. Must stop and restart to sync up. Remote control is poorly laid out and is easy to "fat finger". Audio and video are excellent! It would be nice if an upgrade could fix it. ???

This blu-ray player is great. The only thing I was disappointed about was its inability to play any of my DVDs. I thought it was supposed to upconvert DVDs but all of the ones I tried, it just says unable to play disc and spits it back it. Other than that, its great.

I've owned other Samsung DVD players. This was easy to setup, the built in LAN is a plus; nothing extra to buy. It recognized my router and and setup was easy. It automatically downloaded the latest firmware and installed all by itself. Load times seem to be a little slow on BluRay but that's a minor annoyance. I'm a satisfied buyer.

Great picture/resolution, and lots of cool apps, including Netflix and Pandora. I like that the player allows me to view the pictures stored on my PC on my tv. Two negatives: home networking to PC can be spotty, and using the remote to enter passwords and e-mail addresses when needed with the apps can be time-consuming.

we wanted to stream Netflix movies, and also thought we'd buy a Blu-Ray player. Abt recommended this. DVDs take longer to load that they ever did on a DVD player. Blu-Rays are even slower. The on-screen unit's menu looks really silly. Many of their functions are useless. The remote control is hard to use unless you look at it, whereas I'd prefer one that has buttons you can identify in the dark identify by feel.
Most of all, streaming from Netflix, with an N wireless router is NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME. On a 42" TV, the resolution is horrible. Black backgrounds turn into gray-black 2" mosaics. 4x3 vintage movies cannot be watched in their proper ratio, they are all stretched.
I blame Netflix more than Samsung, but don't buy this for the streaming, cause you will be disappointed.

Within the 20+ days I had the BDC6500 player, the unit would intermittently freeze-up. This happened when watching blu-ray, dvd, and Netflix. Upconversion also seemed problematic -- motion was not very smooth in some, but not all, of the movies I watched.
Be advised that only the Samsung 3D blu-ray players have access to Hulu Plus right now. Though I am not a Hulu subscriber, I was a little bit upset with this, as the service is advertised on the unit's internet apps menu. Perhaps it will be made available in the future.
As others have stated, I also had to reset my Netfix account. But this only happened once.
One thing that is good... Netflix subscribers will receive an update to the Netflix interface that provides search capabilities. This is a big advantage, as you no longer have to first add titles to your instant cue prior to viewing them on your BD player. From what I have read, it is rare for BD players to have this functionality at this time (though game consoles have had it for a while now).
So far, my experience with Abt has been outstanding. I am still waiting for my credit on the returned player, but I have no doubt this will be handled properly. I have spoken to sales, customer service, and technicians at Abt, and all have been extraordinarily courteous and professional. I will buy from Abt again.

I had built up a windows 7 PC just for the stroage and playback of DVD's and on line downloads from Stars Play, Netflex and so on. This DVD player connects to the web and will do the same thing when it comes to Netflex and other movie providers. this model lacks a harddrive but is quite able to do the job. Recomend Cable over ADSL. DSL is just to slow for 1080THX.

I ordered online. Setup was a breeze until I tried ejecting the disc load to play a DVD and it simply would not open. [...] confirmed that unit was faulty. Swapped it out with brand new version of same model. It's been about 6 weeks now since that rocky start, and I'm very happy with this player. Image quality is wonderful. Other reviews I've read say "load time" is very slow. Not my experience at all. Built-in wi-fi works just fine, and having Pandora & Netflix built in is great! One annoyance: About 25% of the time when launching Netflix application, it prompts you to re-enter the password online rather than just taking you to your account. I would think you should only have to set up your account one time. But as soon as you re-enter the password online, all works just fine. Overall, I'm happy with this unit.

This player has loading issues. There are problems with it loosing the Netflix user info forcing you to re-register the unit. It also has issues with firmware updates not matching hardware. Firmware updates are not easy to do. The picture is good, and I love the Wi-Fi built in. I just wish they had tested the unit a little better to eliminate the issues

Installation with my wireless network was very simple.
