Nice player, very small and lightweight. Set up was a snap, just plugged it into the HDMI output of the TV and the blue HDMI Light on the player came on.
Discs load a little slow, but not a great bother!
Really liked the upscaling versions of all my dvd's....it breathes a whole new life into them.

Picture quality very impressive on 1080p LCD TV. Would recomend this unit for those who don't want or need a Blue Ray DVD Player yet.

I found this system to truly be a plug and play system. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge of home electronics should have absolutely no problems hooking up this unit. It is very compatible with analog or HD Digital TV sets. The Optical Sound Connection works excellent, also. By means of the component video connection, it provides an excellent clear picture.

Make sure that you are useing a certified HDMI cable when connecting to your tv set. This product is easy to use and good for the price, however you won't notice much difference in picture quality for DVD upscale.

It is very compact and a good dvd player - handles scratched dvds better than other equipment i have. The only thing i don't like is the lack of a few more control buttons on the machine itself - but the remote is great.

First player did not work right & so I sent it back. The replacement works great. All you do is connect one HDMI cable between the TV & the DVD player & your done. Plays all DVD +/- discs. The remote operates a Sony TV with no problem... Fast & reliable service from ABT as always..

Great picture on HD TV. The only negative I find is that the controls on the DVD player itself are hard to see, but the remote is easy to use.

For the money, I am very impressed. It has an HDMI port, and all the other connections you would expect. The coolest part is that it plays just about any disk you can throw at it. I had a mixed dvd+rw with video, and mp3s on it. It played everything without problem. The menu was a little weird, but I figured it out pretty quick. The down side? Sometimes it will not turn on if the input selection on the tv is not set to the same as the dvd player output. In other words, My dvd is on HDMI 2 on the tv. If I leave the tv set to HDMI 1, the dvd player will not turn on. There is a setting to control this, which I turned off, but it still happens. I almost returned the unit as defective until I reread the instructions. In all, versitile player. I made a dvd-rw full of mp3s that I drop in the tray when people come over. That gives me a few days of non stop music which I can just erase when I get bored. It also gives me a chance to test a video before I burn it to a dvd r..

This replaces an Onkyo 5 disk machine that broke one year to the day. This machine is much easier to use and if it's like my other SONY equipment it will last.

This 1080p upconverting DVD player does a fine job of displaying standard-definition DVDs, but it's no match for true 1080p Blu-ray output. This would be a good addition for a room not dedicated to a home theater setup. I actually found a better price at a local store, including an HDMI cable in the box, soon after I received mine.
