Comments about Sony Sony Black Blu-ray Disc Player:

Let me start by saying I purchased this unit as a replacement to a Play Station 3. I own a 4 year old Panasonic 1080i plasma that has worked great with the PS 3 using the HDMI input. I purchased the BDP-S560 because I wanted to give my son the PS3, I waited for this unit to come out because I wanted wi-fi. When I got the unit home, un plugged the PS3 and then plugged in the S560 and nothing worked, called support, they tried a few things and it still didn't work, they told me to go out and get a new HDMI cable, did that and still didn't work. Called them back and support told me to bring it back to the store, did that, the store plugged the unit in to one of their plasmas and it worked. To be safe the store gave me a new unit, took it home, plugged it in and that would not work with HDMI either. I had to call level 2 support, sat on hold for 40 minutes, got disconnected by them, called back waited another 30 minutes and finally got someone to talk to me, he had me unplug the unit and then connect it using the 3 cable component hook up which did work, but I want HDMI, asked the guy why the PS3 worked and this did not and he had no idea, recommended me to wait for a firmware upgrade and see if it addresses my TV compatibility issue. I was not very happy with that answer and I am seriously thinking of returning the unit and get a different brand. I am hoping someone from Sony does read these posts and contacts me about a possible fix. I have had many Sony products and this is the first time I had an issue like this.
