I have nothing good to say about this DVD/VCR recorder combo except that the black color matches my other electronic equipment. I have repeatedly tried various Samsung DVD recorders, including the VR120, VR357, and the AR650. All of them have died within 18 months, and the cost of repair is close to the cost of a new one. Save yourself some grief and buy a different brand.

I have a HDMI direct connection from my STB to Samsung HDTV. The picture quality is considerably better than the one I get when I'm forced to switch to HDMI2 which is the DVD/VCR connection that I have to use to record something from the TV, which of course is very little since so much has CPRM -- even a 1947 movie. And the VCR recording available is dreadful.

We use it to watch DVD's and to transfer VHS to DVD. Other, more expensive, items of this type may have more features but from the research that I did before purchasing, it was a good buy. We have been quite satisfied.

I bought this product to go with my Samsung TV. They work good together on one remote control. The picture quality is compatiable with the HDTV when using standard DVDs. One of my only complaints is that there is no HD inputs.

I run HDMI cables from the cable box to the TV and from the DVD recorder to the TV. I use regular RCA cables from the cable box to the DVD recorder. I'm sure that this affects the quality of your recordings. To what extent, I don't know.

Well designed. Performs as advertized both VHS and DVD Player/recorders. Only drawback noted as of now, is that the Rewind/fast forward on the set itself do not work. Have to use the remote control for these functions? Might be doing something wrong, but don't think so. Have tried many times, but these set controls do not work.

I primariy use this product to dub old VHS and Super VHS tapes. The unit is simple to use and perfroms very well thus far. I also dub camcorder tapes of home movies through the 1394 front connector
